A Book Lover's Emporium Book Blog Reviews: Briguella by Vicki Fitzgerald

Wow - I had to share this awesome review that Briguella has been given by A Book Lovers Emporium.

Huge thanks!

"This was an amazing all-consuming book that I read in a day. Once I started I literally could not put it down it was so good. It is wonderfully written, the writing of this story is very deep and detailed which I really did enjoy given the subject matter. You could tell a lot of time and research had gone into this book to make it an addictive read.

"A serial killer is on the loose, DCI Beckley is in charge of this harrowing case and journalist Kate Rivendale gets involved deeper than she ever thought she would. Kate is passionate about her job but just how far will she go to catch this evil dangerous man; can DCI Beckley continue to do his job properly and catch this killer ignoring that small spark of chemistry that they both feel towards each other. The characters were all expertly written, I found them very, very easy to connect with and their personalities and characters shone through in this story.

"Reading this book was like being suspended on the precipice of a very high mountain; not knowing if you were going to fall, that knot in your stomach, the feeling of anticipation was an all-time high, the excitement, the pressure, the twists, the gruesome moments were just magnificently captured in these pages.

"A fantastic book that I would recommend to anyone who likes a good thriller, the chase and the kill - you won't be disappointed !!!!

Wonderful reviews & huge thanks!!

I must apologise for being out of action. I have been very ill for a good week and am still quite poorly, to be honest, and trying to recover, so I have been unable to write or read, which feels so wrong!

I have popped online today (laptop in bed), trying to catch up with all the new reviews that have been coming through for Briguella!
There have been some amazing ones (all 5 or 4 star) which has been overwhelming. The comments and praise that Briguella has received are mindblowing! A huge thank you to every single one of you who has taken the time to offer your opinions and support.

Feeling rather sorry for myself, this review published today on Bibliophile Book Club really cheered me up. I would like to thank
Ellen Devonport for her review:

"One of the highlights of being a guest reviewer is that I will often come across little hidden gems of genius and Briguella by Vicki Fitzgerald was that book this month! This is a book that deserves more recognition; I was drawn in from the chilling start and by the end I felt wrung out emotionally. A tale containing a serial killer was always going to grab my interest and this book is written so well that I couldn’t help but race through the pages.

"The story centres around three main characters: Kate Rivendale, a journalist who is desperate to get the next big scoop but with a conscience, DCI William Beckley, a detective who must crack the case due to past mistakes and the killer, a mystery figure who wears a mask depicting Briguella (a cunning and wicked character from the Commedia dell’arte).

"There is a little #sexytension between Kate and William but this didn’t detract from my enjoyment as it becomes obvious Kate is devoted to her husband. Kate has her own secrets though and her desperation to solve the case leads her directly into the path of the killer; from this point I was absolutely gripped. The killer is terrifying and had already murdered at least six women before he encounters Kate after already warning her off. The killer is absolutely terrifying and his attacks are brutal.

"A stunning debut; I can’t wait to see what is next from this author."

Lastly if I have missed anyone's comments on anything I am sorry. Please do message me if you would like to review Briguella or ask me any questions.
Best wishes & happy reading!
