Riding the Cyclone is the story of my first eighteen years: chaotic, gut-wrenching, hilarious. The sixties were a wild ride.

I have a B.A. from Reed College and a master's in linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania. I've taught English to foreign students, taken care of reptiles, and freelanced as a technical writer for over 20 years. I live with my husband in Portland, Oregon.

My varied freelance career gave me the chance to see many interesting corners of the computer software and hardware industries. Digital Woes was the result of my wish to communicate technology's weaknesses and vulnerabilities to people who were about to sign up for a lot of risks they didn't fully appreciate.
