Filler Words
Amendment to original post: A friend read this blog and said this to me:
"I read your blog entry on filler words, and yeah I believe a lot of written sentences by pretty much everyone in the world contain them, but I don't believe they should ALL be deemed as "filler" material. A lot of times, the writer is trying to articulate/convey something and ends up with a poor result. It still somewhat gets the point across but just barely. I don't believe in just eliminating filler words. If you see t...

Ashes of Betrayal synopsis
The Magicis Chronicles - The Dragori Trilogy: Ashes of Betrayal
In the year 2000, the world crumbled into a state of chaos and war as the humans learned they have been sharing the planet for 150,000 years with the Homo sapiens magicis races. The War brought about a completely restructured world, eliminating much of the problems that were destroying it and the life it holds. Forty years later the delicate balance of peace and stability rests solely on the life of one girl. Those who wish...

One foot over the finish line
It's been a while since I've blogged about my writing journey so here's an update.
My first novel is written and has been read by my fantastic beta readers, edited, edited, edited, and edited. I am doing one last read through and edit while I wait for the art work to be completed. Before December 2014 is over with I will be e-publishing my first novel, Ashes of Betrayal. It will be part of The Dragori Trilogy within The Magicis Chronicles. The Chronicles will consist of several novels, all fol...

The frustrations of everything else
This blog was first posted in late september 2014 on another site which has been closed.
I’m nearing the end of my first novel.I say first because my initial story is going to have to be separated into two novels. I have already written 316 pages in Microsoft word, single spaced, 12 point font. times new roman (mostly). When that is condensed down into a typical novel size it will become another 100 pages or so, and i’m not done writing. I have another 300+ pages worth of more story to t...

Halfway milestone
This blog was originally written in August 2014 on another site which has been closed.
In April 2014 I decided I wanted to write a book. I spent the month of May developing the story, characters, plots, etc, and started writing in June. It is now mid-august and I have reached the halfway milestone. Now granted it is all a rough draft, but much editing has been taken place already and more will take place once the rough draft is complete. I have no set amount of pages but I’m aiming...

Getting started
This blog was first written in May or June 2014 on a different site which has sense been taken down.
The question I get asked the most is “What is your book about?” I hesitate to answer this question for two reasons.1. I am not sure how to explain it. My book is multi-dimensional with present and past tense enfolded. I need to come up with a one paragraph explanation that will encompass enough facts to intrigue the reader but not give too much away. I’ll work on it.2. I am afraid of some...
