First, listen. Be curious. Find the story that won’t let you go. The one that keeps you up at night? The one that makes it impossible to concentrate on anything else? That’s THE ONE. Second, write it down. Get to those two magical words, “THE” and “END.” This is a must. Third, connect. Get feedback on your writing from other writers. Take it to heart. Revise. Rewrite. And when you are ready, take the plunge. Query an agent. It’s terrifying. But if it’s THE story—what choice do you have? (less)
