Society of Illustrators · The New York Times
COPRA Master Collection 2 won a Society of Illustrators / MoCCA Fest 2026 Award of Excellence on March 29th! It’s an honor to receive this from the show I premiered some of the earliest issues of the long running series ages ago.
I also got to talk about COPRA on a panel with Tucker Stone, basically a discussion with an old friend and a pivotal figure in the overall development of the comic. It was a barn burner!
I should also mention that series finale Death of COPRA made The New York Times Best of 2025!
After bringing the COPRA story to a close, it’s beyond gratifying to see it not only get recognized but also discovered by a new generation of readers. That made MoCCA a blast, and I look forward to having this comic live on in every edition possible.

COPRA Hardcover 2 · MoCCA
COPRA Master Collection 2 is coming May 20th!
This deluxe hardcover collects issues 13-25, Copra Versus 1 & 2, plus tons of extras. It’s been a long time in the works, so I’m excited to have these stories presented in this awesome format. Over 400 pages of psychedelic revenge comics:
Published by Image Comics, COPRA MC2 is available to order from all book stores and comic shops, so let your retailer know.
As for my first convention of 2026:
I’ll be at this year’s MoCCA Arts Fest, at Table 145 all weekend, plus a Saturday panel with Tucker Stone:
Also, the zine Die With Your Mask On ran the 100 Best Superhero Comics of All-Time in their third issue; COPRA made the cut!
Oh, and more translated editions… and more Giffen videos!

Year of COPRA · 2025
Wrapping up COPRA was the main event for me this year — it remains a surreal experience — but it was also packed to the brim with new shows, new art, and new projects.
After years of wanting to attend CXC, I finally had the opportunity to table at Cartoon Crossroads Columbus, give a Talk & Teach presentation / focus panel (videos forthcoming), and drop by the Laughing Ogre.
More conventions: BICS, HeroesCon, Rose City, Eddie P, NYCC, and a Q&A over at Everyone Comics in Queens, NY.
The final issues of COPRA were simultaneously released by Copra Press and Image Comics, who also released the collected edition aka [Death of] COPRA Round 8.
Look! Hand-painted Round 8 bookplates for GOSH! Comics…
…and just released: the Fiffe Portfolio 2!

COPRA 50
COPRA 50 is coming! What a privilege this is for me, a surreal honor to arrive at the place I had my sights set on. COPRA 50 is its own thing, story-wise, a standalone epilogue that catches up with those who weren’t a part of the Death of Copra arc. In all other regards, this closes the book.
It hits the shelves this summer, June 18th, 32 full-color pages from Image Comics / Copra Press.

· DEATH of COPRA No. 1 · Coconut Meat Skull Zine
DEATH of COPRA is a four issue mini-series coming out January 8th from Image Comics. This all-new material is the direct continuation of where the last 45 issues left off.
(aka Legacy Numbers 46-49)
The story of COPRA is one of duality: brutal but tender, bombast as defined by human nuance, crafted with a love of comics history while guided by an eye towards the future.
We’re going out, thus, with celebration and revenge in our hearts.

COCONUT MEAT SKULL
a COPRA Fanzine
Nine essays + eleven artists + a new interview & cover by me = COCONUT MEAT SKULL. Now on sale from Wakeup Comics (Plus stickers!) This 92 page Copra Fanzine was amassed & edited by Josh Lambert — I am in awe of his generosity, patience, and vision. And a big thanks to this murderers’ row of contributors.
I’m super flattered by this COPRA fanzine. What a sweet, humbling, surreal thing to witness. I’m touched by every word, every line of art. What a gesture.
Get in touch with Josh / Wakeup Comics if you want a copy!

CREATING COPRA
CREATING COPRA, Michel Fiffe’s Definitive DIY Guide to Making and Self-Publishing Comics is here!
This 64 page guide is a step-by-step tour of Studio Copra, a personal in-depth account that covers everything from filling up a blank page to managing a small business: writing, penciling, inking, lettering, coloring, packaging, distributing, selling, cultivating relationships, building a catalogue, and putting artistic muscles to the test.
Copra Press has steadily worked with printers and retailers for over a decade to reach a global audience, self-publishing COPRA merch, zines, and over fifty comic books.
This first time collection of updated HOW TO editorials from Fiffe’s Patreon is packed with full-color examples, a brand new massive chapter detailing his latest challenges and strategies, plus illustrations exclusive to this edition.
CREATING COPRA is an invaluable tool for the modern cartoonist. It marries the practical with the idealistic, dissecting the creative process while demystifying the hurdles that are part of comics-making in today’s world.
This project wouldn’t exist without the immense support from the Koyama Provides Grant. Annie Koyama has been a publisher, a patron, and an all-around positive force in the world of comics and beyond, making this grant a profound honor.
