Jennifer O'Brien was born in New Hampshire in 1971. At age 6 her family moved a couple of miles over the border to Maine, where she was raised until she ventured out on her own when she turned 18. She has lived in Alaska, California, and Pennsylvania, where she currently resides with her husband and three teenaged children.

Jen has been a pastor's wife for 20 years, and in the ministry for even longer! She has spent many years digging into the Bible and incorporates those studies in her novels. She has been writing since she was old enough to place words on paper, with a lifelong dream of publishing a book

What Now?



“Enjoy it while you can.
They grow up way too fast.”
Older folks said these words
Observing my children.

I listened; I promise.
So why did it still hurt
And catch me by surprise?
I wasn’t ready then.

Even now I’m still not.
Ready, that is. I can’t
Look at their grown faces
And not see my littles.

Adults, all three mature.
All with lives of their own.
I love them grown of course
But still feel somewhat lost.
