I am a first time romance author living in a popular market town in Yorkshire. I got the inspiration for my first novel 'The Life and Afterlife of Charlie Brackwood' whilst re-visiting the small, Yorkshire Dales village where I got married to my own childhood sweetheart, Tom. The Yorkshire Dales have been a passion of mine ever since.

I am an ex-analytical chemist who turned my hand to writing after redundancy. I have always edmired writers from afar amd knew that one day I would write my own book. I don't know how I knew...I just did. I enjoys art, cookery and gardening. I am an avid animal lover, keep fit fanatic, nature lover as well as a keen book worm. I own two dogs and enjoys hiking up Ilkley moor as well as Otley Chevin.

I tend to write through it, write anything as long as you're writing something. I can always go back and edit these bits out. But often just writing useless bits and bobs will lead to other ideas along the way.(less)

I have a scientific background and spent the most of my work days day dreaming (hence why I was never good at my job!) I love living in my imagination and creating characters.
I also love the freedom writing gives me. For example, on a lovely, sunny, Yorkshire day like today I can take my laptop in to my garden and type away while the sound of lawn mowers and tweeting birds fade in to the background. I love, love, love it! It's a job I would recommend. (less)

“Have you ever loved someone so intensely, so entirely ,that it's painful to be apart from them? I'm not talking about being in a long-distance relationship or even a particularly painful case of unrequited love. I'm talking about being in a completely different world from the other person, a world where you can see them and hear them but you can't touch them and they can't see or hear you.”
Stacey Field, The Life and Afterlife of Charlie Brackwood

“Don't get me wrong, it's a good thing to be remembered. But everyday their memories get fewer, less intense. Certain aspects of the memory will become dishevelled, twisted into a form unrecognisable. Until finally the person still at the centre of your world moves on and all you can do is watch”
Stacey Field, The Life and Afterlife of Charlie Brackwood

“Heaven is spectacular, some would say paradise. A magnificent city surrounded by walls of gold and rainbow paths all dazzling in Gods light. There is no fear in Heaven, nor is there pain, and most really have found serenity there”
