Jake Enholm enlisted in the Marine Corps at the tender age of eighteen and immediately won all kinds of awards and accolades, was promoted incredibly quickly up the ranks, and retired with thousands of adoring fans after twenty-two years.

Jake Enholm clawed and fought his way up the chain of command from private to major, through wars and bureaucracy, and was lucky to escape with his life.

He enlisted in the Marine Corps, went to boot camp in San Diego, and eventually became a KC-130 enlisted navigator, a species of Marine which is almost extinct. I…moreFor me, it's creating my own universe. It's my universe, and I can do anything I want, but since it's science fiction it has to be fairly plausible. I had a real issue with putting faster than light drives into my story, because some people believe that Einstein's theory of relativity forbids FTL drives. But I got to solve that problem, and that was fun too. The TOR doesn't forbid faster than light travel, it just says as you get up to the speed of light, your mass becomes infinite, so you'll never reach the speed of light. But it doesn't restrict travel faster than the speed of light. (less)
