Books Over Bombs (The Sonnet)
Bombs kill terrorists,
Books kill terrorism.
Missiles kill extremists,
Mindfulness kills extremism.
Guns kill supremacists,
Goodness kills supremacy.
Law restrains cruel people,
Love reforms cruelty.
Sarin cripples the malicious,
Service cures malice.
C4 impairs the prejudiced,
Curiosity treats prejudice.
Violence can be revolution no more.
For all degradation kindness is the cure.

Need Teachers Not Cops ( The Sonnet) | Himalayan Sonneteer
“The world needs less cops and more teachers,
While cops enforce law, teachers instill accountability.
Thus law enforcement only produces an illusion of order,
It’s the teachers who can create a crime-free society.
If students are the future, teachers are future maker,
So be civilized and focus on lifting teachers and students.
Government of baboons invests in police ‘n defense contracts,
While a truly civilized government invests in education.
Arm the teachers with books and students with sustenance,
Then watch them accomplish the impossible future,
A future of true lasting order, reform and harmony,
Which a billion police cannot achieve in a billion years.
Society that empowers teachers empowers peace.
Society that empowers police empowers malice.”
“Law is like a band-aid. Band-aids don’t heal the wound, they only prevent further infection while your natural immune system does the healing. Likewise, law doesn’t cure crime, it only keeps crime in check, while individual accountability treats the inhumanity that causes crime. And at some point the band-aid must come off, because, just like a body covered in band-aid is the sign of a sick person, a society covered in law is the sign of a sick species.”

Save Trees, Buy Ebooks (The Sonnet) | Armor of The World
Oh, I know so well, the euphoria of bibliosmia!
So, buy only the priceless books in printed form.
If explorers of knowledge don’t act responsible,
All glory of bibliophilia is fraudulent and wrong.
Literature is just the same, no matter the format,
You gotta prioritize between ebooks and print form.
In pursuit of knowledge ebooks are environment-friendly,
Therefore, keep your print book buying to bare minimum.
We cherish music totally electronically these days,
We no longer clutter the shelves with CDs or vinyls.
Why not do the same with literature, especially when,
Ebooks are to print books what EVs are to gas vehicles.
Printed books will always be special, so buy one book
by your favorite author in print, rest in digital form.
Save trees, buy ebooks, that’s the new book lovers’ norm.

Publish and Forget, Sonnet (When Scientist becomes Poet) | Abhijit Naskar | The Humanitarian Dictator
Write till you drop dead,
that’s my motto of writing.
I don’t do promotions,
have never done book signings.
In fact, once I release a work,
I forget and move on to the next.
In an industry driven by book sales,
My principle is, publish and forget.
I never remember how much I have written,
though the vastness is staggering to many.
All I can think of, how much I have to write,
before I drift into the slumber of non-entity.
At birth we become elements to entity,
upon death the entity reverts to elements.
Make sure to make your trip mean something,
more reason to transcend foolish containments.

Save your soul, acquire print books (Sonnet 2434) ― Abhijit Naskar, Sonnets From The Mountaintop
I once wrote, save trees, buy ebooks;
since then a couple of things have come to light.
You can lose access to the ebooks you purchase,
anytime the platform decides to remove them.
However, the most heinous case of all is that,
it’s only a matter of time that platforms
quietly start altering existing literature,
like they are already doing to streaming.
Nature will endure the loss of a few trees
in the sacred cause of mind expansion,
but no amount of energy conservation
can make up for doctored consciousness.
The minor dent on nature for literature
is nothing compared to the species level
damage that looms, once existing literature
starts getting doctored by crooks.
Ebooks, audiobooks, the choice is yours, but
always acquire print copies of your cherished books.
