That’s around one every three days.

Worked a lot on my blog, so slightly under where I wanted to be with my word count. Have decided that I will do the editing separately from this challenge as I don’t think I can manage that in the remaining 11 days on top of finishing the writing – but that’s ok with me, the target was to write 10 short stories not publish them too!
Worked on Never a Bride and total word count for day 22 is 921 words.
21st
Today was a great day for writing! Got up early (again!), and managed to get down 2643 words, which is my second highest daily count for this challenge. Just stuck to bringing up the word count for The Timepiece, and it’s now finished!
Just three stories left to finish and 10 days to go!

These are the words counts for each of the short stories:
The Untimely Demise of Leo Sunderland – 6069 – Finished

Top ten places to visit before I die
Yesterday, my cousin Dan left for an European Adventure. During a text conversation he asked me if I had any suggestions for places to visit while he was on the road.
Travelling is one of my life goals, and as you can imagine my list of must-see places is extensive. I gave him quite a few ideas but I thought it would be good to share my ‘have to visit before I die’ top ten here.
Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia.
Grand Canal, Venice, Italy.
Stari Most, Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Blue Path, Cinque Terre, Italy.
Diocletian’s Palace, Split, Croatia.
Szechenyi Baths, Budapest, Hungary.
Trip aboard the Glacier Express, Switzerland.
Black Forest, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
The Jordaan, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Old Town, Kroków, Poland
Have you got a travel list? Where would you most like to visit?

18th
Lazy day today. Just sat at my computer most of the day to write and do some editing. The last four stories are really coming together now and I am back on track after the ups and downs of the last two weeks. A solid 2064 words down today.
19th
Spent most of todays writing time on my Cozy Mystery, which still doesn’t have a title. I’m really enjoying writing this one and putting in all the clues.
1989 words down and I have broken the 31,000 words barrier. The end is in sight now, I just need to keep going – 12 days to go!

5 reasons why you should be setting Life Goals.
Do you set life goals? Should you?
I think so.
I have a list of things I want to achieve and this is why I think you should start doing the same.
How can you achieve great things if you don’t know what it is you want in the first place?
Do you know where do you want to be a year from now? Five years? Ten?
My life goal list sets out where I want to be in 2020, 2030 and beyond. It lists precisely what I want to be doing at each of those points in my life.
From figuring out where I want to be in the future I run a course backwards, plotting out each step I would have needed to take to reach that point and I keep going back until I reach today.
That gives me a clear path of every step I need to take to achieve each of my goals.
So why should you make a life goals list? Here are five great reasons why…
1. Goals beat procrastination over the head with the naughty stick.
I am the world’s worst procrastinator, if I entered the procrastination olympics I would win a medal.
Having a clear set of goals and a plan of attack on how I am going to achieve them keeps me from veering off on a path of apathy, letting life lollop on with no direction.
Sometimes I can be my own worst enemy. Having life goals keeps me on track and makes it harder to avoid reaching my dreams.
2. Goals make you accountable.
Not to your mum or your boss or Mrs Perkins at number 43, but to yourself.
Setting life goals and getting them down on paper makes them real and gives them life.
With a defined set of life goals you can see in an instant if you are doing everything you need to do to reach those goals, and it will be glaringly obvious if you are not putting the work in.
3. Goals give clarity.
When we map out a path to a life goal it shows us exactly what we want versus what we think we want.
Sometimes we think we want something, but when planned out step by step we may realise we don’t actually want it after all.
Once you have mapped out a specific life goal, you may decide that the effort needed to achieve it just isn’t worth your time.
So, once we have made a plan and checked that we do want everything on our list, and we decide that we are prepared to put the work in to achieve each of our dreams, how do we keep on track?
4. Goals are motivating.
When your life plan is laid out before you it keeps you moving in the direction you want to be.
Having a list of steps to reach your dreams motivates you to keep taking the next step, keep moving forward, and propelling you towards making them a reality.
Goals give you a purpose. A reason for everything you do.
Each step you take along the path of achieving your goals is a little high five to yourself.
During down times, when you think you are never going to reach your goal, you can look at your list and see how far you have come.
Goals give you a reason to get on and do something and work towards achieving your dreams.
Nothing falls in your lap, you have to go out and get it!
So how do you know you are doing enough?
5. Goals give you a solid base for measuring your progress.
If you see that you are consistently crossing things off your lists to reach your desired destination, then you can see how far you have come and how near to are you achieving those dreams.
If you have a clear path to follow, you will get to your destination. But if you don’t have a path and you don’t know where you are going how will you know when you’ve got there?
But what if you aren’t moving in the direction you need to be? What if you have been slacking on taking the next step?
Go back to your list and look at the steps you need to take to reach your goal.
Perhaps you’ve noticed that you haven’t been working towards that goal of saving to buy a motorhome so you can go on an epic tour of Europe? Maybe your heart is telling you that you’d prefer to work towards paying off your mortgage instead.
Nothing is written in stone. Change your goal and rework the steps so you can achieve your new dream.
Goals should be flexible and open to change if something else becomes a priority.
Do you set life goals? Grab a notebook and pen and start some life goals today.

It has been a busy weekend here, I didn’t get any writing done towards the challenge on Saturday as I went to a family wedding (and very lovely it was too!).
I’m not going to write today (other than this update), as it is my Nan’s funeral.
But, over the last few days I have been working on getting some new blog posts up, so really happy about that.
I have finished Love at Fullers Lake, so that’s another story done. There are four more stories left to finish and 13 days left to do it, so I’m confident that I’ll complete the challenge by August 30th.
