Ana Bilíc is an Austrian-Croatian writer, linguist, and award-winning filmmaker living in Vienna. She writes in two languages, feels at home in two cultures, and moves between two artistic worlds—literature and film.
What unites all her work is her passion for stories: stories that transport readers to other worlds, touching, surprising, and inspiring them.
Her love of the fantastic has accompanied her since childhood—back then, she dreamed of flowers made of precious stones. Today, she creates worlds where the wondrous exists quite naturally alongside the everyday.
And in real life, she has a simple rule: A day without sponge cake for lunch is possible—but not ideal.

That means even in the middle of the night or during breakfast. When I get writer's block, I simply read my notes. That helps tremendously.(less)
Ana Bilic In any case, it is wonderful that you can make your vocation your profession. That means making the freedom to create the main focus of your life.
