As a young man after traveling half the ancient world I lived life as an inventor and media and movie entrepreneur, producing the cult movie The Wicker Man among others; in 1980 launching video rental shops in the UK and in 1995 launching Internet TV and streaming video on the world. see www.johnbentley.biz

My recent book -published in 2026 - Mr Internet TV: The Ego and The Id - describes my life in media and movies in a search for identity in the jetset world of entertainment obsessed with fame and fortune. It explores the price of ambition, the strain it can place on the people closest to us, and the surprising lessons that come from failure and the need for reinvention.
