Denae Christine is a Bible-believing Christian who lives in Colorado and teaches high school math and English.

She has moved too many times and gathered too many bookshelves. She likes being with her family, listening to audiobooks, playing with little kids, puzzling, and collecting dragons.

Others find her strange because
A, she likes reading and math equally well.
B, she was homeschooled but now teaches in a public school.
C, she thinks kittens are cuter than human babies.
D, anything pink is automatically superior (except pink kittens).

She is most thankful to God for Jesus, for her family and friends, and that she is not allergic to apples or PB&Js (her lunch every day).

(I do not accept review requests, but I do accept book suggestions.)

Reading my favorite books and pretending I'm doing "career research" or that I'm "honing my craft," when all I'm really doing is reading a good book.
Oh, and all the wonderful people I meet and hear about! Authors and readers really are the best sorts.(less)

I walk, listen to a book, advertise my book, check professional websites, read emails, read writing advice, etc. If the writer's block goes on for more than a day or two, I sit and read the most recent things I read. If that doesn't help, I pretend I'm writing a throwaway scene and begin. That throwaway scene may or may not become a scene I want in the book, but it's easier to get yourself to write a scene you pretend you'll throw away than a scene that will exist in the final draft of your book. The latter is far more daunting.(less)

Teaching Stories

To my surprise, after teaching math for 4 years, I was asked if I would join the English department at my high school. My principal and team leader were impressed that I had published books and wanted me to bring my expertise in writing to my teaching.

Yikes.

I enjoy teaching English far more than I expected. My feedback can be more personal. Class writing warm ups can be about their weekends. I c

I couldn't finish book 2.

Matia ben Ephraim Hi there, fellow homeschooled authoress!
Thanks for the friend request! I wish I had time to read as many books as you do! :P

Erynn Kellokar LOL I rated it just because I felt like it. 'Cos I can change it after I read it if I really don't like it (which is so unlikely that I must laugh at its unlikelihood).
Ha!

You don't have a photo. Why? :( You could put a picture of cheese up. Or a wing. Or a bird. Or the flock--uh I mean, I don't have a picture of the flock do you because I don't whatever are you thinking?
