Christopher Lentz is the acclaimed author of Opening Doors (biography, 2019), My Friend Marilyn (historical fiction, 2018) and The Blossom Trilogy (historical romance). His books are about hope, second chances and outcasts overcoming obstacles. But most of all, they are about how love changes everything.

Lentz made his mark as a corporate-marketing executive before becoming a full-time storyteller.

When asked to offer a dozen things people should know about him, Lentz says he:
1) Is an author who gave Marilyn Monroe a second chance
2) Kissed the love of his life atop the Eiffel Tower
3) Lives in a haunted Victorian house
4) Earned a paycheck dressing up as Winnie the Pooh at Disneyland
5) Stands in awe of lightening, thunder and the from-scratch c

Thanks for letting me know about your services....and thanks for your question!

For me, becoming an author was a later-in-life decision. My corporate career was all about writing. But not fiction...well, some of those CEO speeches I ghost-wrote were pretty much fiction!

I always knew I had stories banging around my brain that needed to get out, but I had a family to raise and a mortgage to pay.

When I turned 50, I knew I had to get started. I wrote my debut novel, BLOSSOM (a forbidden love story set against the 1906 earthquake and fire that destroyed San Francisco), outside by a fountain during my lunch hours at the office.

Based on the joy I got through writing and the positive feedback from readers (other than friends and family), I knew I was on the right track.

My stories are about outsiders who are at odds with their worlds...who decide to escape or change. My books are easy to read and hard to forget.

My current project (a WWII love story set in Japan) began on a Bullet Train while pulling out of the Hiroshima station. I'd outlined the book by the time I got to Kyoto. I tell you that because inspiration can come slowly or ALL AT ONCE.

Because you edit, proofread and review books, I sure hope you get to experience the profound satisfaction of becoming a storyteller yourself!(less)

There will never be enough time or energy. So if you don't start and actually write something, there's nothing to edit/refine. Also, writing can be a solo sport. Home Work by Julie Andrews

Whether Julie Andrews is enchanting us with her portrayals of Mary Poppins, Maria von Trapp, a thoroughly modern flapper named Millie or gender-bending Victor and Victoria, the singer/actress/author always can be counted on to delight us.

I was counting on Home Work: A Memoir of My Hollywood Years to be just as enchanting. And it is.

Andrews is unguarded, candid and inspiring in her stroll down Mem Read more of this blog post »

I love the idea of a companion book for Scarlett O’Hara’s story, but told through the eyes of Rhett Butler. This isn’t that. Rhett Butler’s People, by Donald McCaig, is entertaining and, at times, enlightening for fans of Gone With the Wind. But it’s ...more

Christopher Lentz Thank you, Donna. I think you'll really enjoy the Blossom Trilogy. It's an epic series based in California, starting with a forbidden love triangle set against the horrific 1906 earthquake and firestorm in San Francisco.

The second book, BLOSSOM ON THE ROAD OF DREAMS, is all about following you heart. Blossom's fresh start begins with Brock…and ends by running away in a horse-drawn wagon. Desperate for change, Blossom knows she can’t hide her darkest secret for long. Will that secret ruin her new life and new love?
