Subscription Services
Hello all,
It's been a while, but I thought I'd share with you all my subscription box addictions. This is just me ranting and not advertising :D. I love the mystery behind subscription boxes and get so excited when I find them on my door step.
First up, the food boxes. I've tried both Hello Fresh and Blue Apron. I absolutely loved everything I received from Hello Fresh, but Blue Apron is extremely complicated. Blue Apron is also terrible for picky eaters and they don't have as good of a variety with the food choices. With Hello Fresh, I love that I don't have to worry about missing ingredients and having to run back to the store. It makes it easier with a baby. I also love that everything's fresh and the ingredients are conveniently packaged per meal.
Try Hello Fresh Here
Next are the book subscriptions. The two that I've done are OwlCrate and Once Upon A Book Club. With both of these, you get a recently released YA Book. With OwlCrate, you get bookish items like candles, bookmarks, etc. that go with the book's them. With Once Upon A Book Club, you get 4-5 items that are related to the book. The items are wrapped with a correlating page number and you open it up when you get to that page. Out of these two, I prefer OwlCrate but they're both good.
Try OwlCrate Here
Finally, the geeky boxes. I've tried both LootCrate and GeekFuel. LootCrate is inconsistent and doesn't have as good quality items when compared to Geek Fuel. Geek Fuel comes with a shirt, collectible pin, steam game, and 2-3 other geeky items. Last month, I received a hidden staircase carpet that was pretty cool, and the month before that, I got a health potion/elixir lamp. This is the only box that I consistently order every month because it's a good price for the items you receive.
Try Geek Fuel Here
There are my addictions. Comment below with your favorite subscription boxes and whether or not you subscribe to any of these. I'm always open to trying new ones!
Happy Reading!

Randomness About Harry Potter
Hello all!
Just being a little random. I've been having a Harry Potter marathon because iTunes had the collection on sale for $50. I was like, yes, please. My husband hates it because he really isn't into that kind of stuff. I can never get tires of the movies or books. I hope there are still a lot of Harry Potter fans out there and they haven't been overtaken by Twilight, which is a good story, terrible movie.
The Harry Potter park in Universal Studios is amazing for those fans who haven't been. It takes you into the Wizarding World. They even sell the chocolate frogs and butterbeer. The rides are okay. I went while it was still new so it actually broke down a few times. One time it broke down while I was in the Dementor section so it was eerie.
Those who like fanfiction, Wattpad has some good ones. I enjoy the Draco stories. He will always be my favorite character. For some strange reason, the main character is rarely my favorite. I love those with a dark history or an intriguing story behind what makes them tick. I'm sure there are others out there just as strange as me. For another example, my favorite character from Twilight was Jasper.
I've been looking for new books with characters who have a dark past that you can fall in love in love with so feel free to leave suggestions.
Until next time!

Self-Publishing
Hello all!
Today, I want to talk a little bit about self-publishing. It's a challenging adventure to get your book out there, but it can be done. Local bookstores, such as Barnes and Noble, will usually support local authors. The Barnes and Noble near me is setting up a book signing sometime in July for Dark Lightning. Social media will become your best friend. It's a way to get your project known to people from other states. Goodreads is my current favorite. They offer advertising at 50 cents a click and there's so many wonderful readers on Goodreads. I love meeting new people and hearing what they like to read as well.
With Self-Publishing, you have to be proactive about your book and be ready for everyone's opinion. I personally love getting feedback because it helps me learn for my future novels. I haven't decided if I'm going to self-publish my next book. Only time will help me decide, considering it's still in the works.
I'd like to add that I will probably start adding videos to my account. Most of them will involve Apollo, my reading buddy. He is the most entertaining bird I've ever owned.

Officially A Goodreads Author
Hello all!
I just figured out how the Goodreads author program worked and am excited because it is helpful to those who self-publish, like me. I unfortunately haven't been proactive with my book because I was busy planning a wedding. Now that I'm officially a wife, I'm ready to turn my full attention to my publications. I published Dark Lightning back in November and have only heard good things about it, but I'm open to everyone's opinion. Constructive criticism is how we learn. My book can currently be found at Barnes and Noble, Amazon, iBooks, Createspace, and Smashwords. Dark Lightning takes you into the enticing and dark world of the Elementals. Each person can control one element and bend it to their will. The story line follows Ava, who possess the rare element: lightning and electricity. She struggles to fit into the Elemental society since she was raised by humans. Luckily, she has her best friend Harper to help guide her. The Elemental society doesn't seem so bad with Nate in it either. Ava is compelled to get closer to him and finds herself entranced by his blue eyes. But with his narcissism and stubbornness, he doesn't make it easy.
I am working on the sequel, along with another novel. Writing is my passion and just like anyone else, I like sharing that passion with others. I hope you all take the time to read my novel and share your thoughts with me. I am also open to any questions so feel free to ask.
Bye for now,
Bethany
