I graduated from Idaho State University in May 2018 with a Creative Writing degree.

While there are nay-sayers out there, I know that the only way to follow your dreams are to forget about the doubts and plunge head first into the story of your life.

I plan on doing just that and sharing the stories that shape me with those who love the wonderful world of reading.

When I write, I always write to music.
If the music I listen to doesn't correspond with the scene, I start to work on a different scene. My main trick is to avoid any stalls in my writing. If I have to skip around an edit later, then that's okay, as long as I keep the story going in some way or form.(less)

I think a lot of people have these amazing stories that they form in their thoughts, but no one is able to see them, and a writer's mission is to present those stories to the public, and I am so grateful to be a part of that.(less)

In an Alternate Universe...

Hey! So heads up! If you haven't read Where the Lightning Strikes yet, there might be *SPOILERS* in this post!

Awhile back, one of my closest friends developed a connection to two characters in my book. She wanted them to be a couple and named them Cazely.
So, for a little gift to her, I thought I would write her some Zaze and Caly scenes that take place in an alternate reality. Here is on of those Read more of this blog post »

“Music is another language, one so close to actual thought, strung together, sometimes staccato, flowing, and sometimes even nonsensical or harsh to the ears. It’s truth in an otherwise dishonest world.”
Moryah DeMott, Timeless: A Novel

“Sometimes I sit and stare out at the people walking by, wondering if they’ve felt as I’ve felt, trapped, alone, but guiltily content in the knowledge that I will never know another’s thoughts, and therefore can feel special due to my unique loneliness.”
Moryah DeMott, Timeless: A Novel

“You had me believing that I was crazy. Every time I broke down over what seemed like nothing, it was you.’ Bade ran an anxious hand through his hair.
‘Well, that’s love isn’t it?’ Davina took his restless hand. ‘Love is crazy and irrational, and anything less would be boring.”
Moryah DeMott, Timeless: A Novel

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”
Oscar Wilde

“Did Brother Zachariah just steal our cat?”
Cassandra Clare, City of Heavenly Fire

“So many books, so little time.”
Frank Zappa

“If one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again, there is no use in reading it at all.”
Oscar Wilde

“You have to write the book that wants to be written. And if the book will be too difficult for grown-ups, then you write it for children.”
Madeleine L'Engle
