Happy New Year!
Well, here goes, my very first blog. I have no idea who will read it, but I'm excited about how this new year has started and compelled to share my news with the cyberworld.
First, this week (1/2/12, to be precise) marks the official release date of my new book, "So What: A Single Mom's* Guide to Staying Sane in the 21st Century (*Not just for single moms)". Writing this book helped keep me sane my first year of single parenting after my divorce, and my hope is that lessons learned will help others get through trying times of their own.
I launched my third goodreads giveaway a couple of weeks ago, aimed at ending on the book's release date as a form of celebration. I really enjoy reading every one of the hundreds of profiles of the folks who bid on the giveaways, and I especially enjoy finally sending the books to the winners with hope that they'll be well received. I used to wish I could pick the winners myself, but I'm glad goodreads picks them for me, because I'd never be able to narrow the list!
Another awesome book event happened for me today (1/3/12): My first blog interview appeared in this excellent blog called "TheWriteChris - On Writing" (http://thewritechris.blogspot.com). Chris found me through goodreads and offered to interview me, and I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Her blog is top quality and I'm quite honored to be a part of it today. Thanks, Chris!
I've received so many great reviews on goodreads - thanks so much to all of you who have taken the time to write your thoughts. I hope some of you are reading this now and receiving my words of appreciation.
