What a Day!

My writers' group has put together an anthology of short stories, and the finished product will be out April 5th! It's exciting, to all of us. Some of the authors you've heard of, others are new to publication. Each story centers around a special day of some kind, and while several stories are romance, others are not. Currently the book is available for preorder in some places, but the ebook won't be at Amazon until release day. Just one of the oddities of self-publishing. But you can check out the details of the stories on the print detail page, if you're interested, or on other retail sites.

My story is set in Mystic Springs. Helen Benedict always spoke to me, whenever she made an appearance, so she needed her own small story. https://books2read.com/whataday

Best,
Linda

Thanksgiving!

It's the Monday before Thanksgiving, so the holidays have officially arrived. In my house, at least. I rarely get any writing done between mid-November and New Year's. There's just too much going on. Old recipes, new recipes to try, time with friends and family... cleaning the house. But no writing, for a while.

For the next couple of weeks Running Scared, in ebook format, will be on sale for 99 cents. Maybe I won't be writing, but that doesn't mean I don't work at all. :-)

Happy Thanksgiving, all! Hope you have a wonderful week.

Hello again!

I've been away from Goodreads for far too long. I'm not sure why, I guess I was just distracted. Life! It happens. I'd like to spend more time here, checking out book suggestions and reviews, seeing what's new, saying hello. So hey, y'all! It's good to be back. :-) Linda

new cover!

I love my Bride by Midnight cover -- the original -- but I've gotten some feed back that it doesn't look fantasy/paranormal enough. So I've had a new cover made for the e-book, and am leaving the print version as is. I hope no one is confused. Trying a new cover on the e-version seemed like a good idea, and I do love the new cover, too. They're very different, though. I'll try to post the new cover here on Goodreads, but I'm not always as tech savvy as I should be, given that it's, you know, 2013. :-)

New e-books are coming in the next few months! A couple of collections of novellas and a romantic suspense. All are in the works. Looks for news here or on my website at www.lindawinsteadjones.com.

Best,
Linda

Bride by Midnight!

It's finally here! My first new self-published book, Bride by Midnight, is a new novel in the fantasy romance series that began with The Sun Witch. It started as a novella, an experiment of sorts, but the story refused to stay short. :-) It's available as an e-book at Amazon, Kobo, B&N, and iBooks, and will soon be available in print at Amazon -- and in a couple of months, you should be able to order a print copy from any bookstore.

Self-pub is so different, when it comes to getting the book out there. It's impossible (at least so far) to have a book available everywhere on one publication day. But we do what we can with what we have, right?

I'm excited! And terrified. And more than a little nervous. Honestly, I have no idea what to expect from here on out. It's an adventure! :-)

website!

It took much longer than I'd planned, but the new website is finally up, and can be found at http://www.lindawinsteadjones.com. It's still fairly simple, but hopefully all the necessary information is there. And it's definitely prettier than the old site.

In other news, my first all-new book to self-publish is in the works and will be available in June! Bride by Midnight will be the 10th book in the Columbyana series that began with The Sun Witch. I plan to make it available as an e-book and also in print. Details to come.

Linda -- who is more than ready for spring!

Free e-book!

Shades of Midnight, the first in a historical paranormal romance trilogy featuring ghost hunters in 19th Century Georgia, is free now through Sunday at Amazon. If you have a new -- or old -- e-reader and are interested, check it out. http://www.amazon.com/Shades-Midnight...

Linda Howard and I have been talking about a chat here at Goodreads, coming up in January. Stay tuned for details! We've done two books together, now, and there will be more coming.

Hope everyone's holidays were wonderful and you didn't eat too many cookies -- like I did. :-)

Halloween Party

On Halloween, stop by my facebook page -- https://www.facebook.com/pages/Linda-... -- to join in the virtual release party for Shades of Scarlet. 8 am to 8pm, central time. We'll talk about candy corn, and I'll be giving away e-books that I deem Halloween appropriate. Shades of Midnight (Ghosts! and a RITA winner); Into the Woods (the heroine is a witch); and Moonlight Becomes You (Vampire, maybe). Drop by, share Halloween stories, snag some of the candy while no one is looking, and maybe win an e-book!

Do you like to be scared?

Halloween month is a good time to talk about scary books and movies. Do you like to be scared? I'll admit, I'm very picky about my scary movies. I don't want anything too graphic. Too much of that fake blood turns my stomach, but I LOVE a good scare. I have almost everything Stephen King's written. The Stand and the Dark Tower series are among my favorites. Okay, I'm a romance writer, and if anyone doesn't do happily ever after it's Stephen King. :-) But he's definitely brilliant, IMO.

My Linda Fallon books (Shades of Midnight, Shades of WInter, and Shades of Scarlet) have both romance and horror. Ghosts, most specifically. I wanted my scary books to have a happy ending. I've decided to make Halloween the official release date for the third book's rerelease in e-format. I think that's appropriate.

So, what scares you? Do you like to be scared?

Cyber candy corn all around! :-)
