This is Pilmenis from @Spasibo_Russian_Food (SRF). For IDR 25.000, the Pilmenis package consist of 7 Pilmenis, 1 portion of Olivier Salad, 2 pc Russian Pancake, and mayonnaise. This is a Halal version of Pilmenis. In Russia, most of Pilmenis was traditionally made using pork. At least, that was what i’ve heard from my Russian goodfriend. So, i am grateful that Spasibo Russian Food cook their food with halal version.
Back to Pilmenis, the shape was surprisingly not that usual classic round Pilmenis shape (like little UFO hehe) Well, I found so many “little UFO” Pilmenis recipe photos from Russian cooking group that i followed on my Vkontakte/VK. But, i understand Pilmenis shape can comes in many various shape. Later, i am sure i will order it to SRF, but i will request the Chef to make the Pilmenis with that “little UFO” shape

It was on last February 2015 when–at first time ever in my life, i become curious about Russian food. Searching throughout google but give me 0 result for the active(still open for business) Russian restaurants in Jakarta. From Google, i found out there were -once upon a time- a cute small Russian restaurant in Kemang South Jakarta. But sadly, the business already shutdown maybe around 2013-2014 (not sure for the exact time). Also for that Red Square in Senayan area (close their door in end of 2014).
However, the curiousity still on my mind. Luckily, 3 weeks ago i found @SpasiboRussianFood in Instagram. Starting with these Mantis, Pilmenis, Olivier Salad, and Russian Pancake, i am so excited for my another experiences in savoring another Russian food from Spasibo Russian Food. Spasibo!

Salah satu my Chef-buddy, Ched Emril yang sudah menyempatkan membaca debut novel saya, Sweet Karma, belum lama (sekitar 10 hari lalu) whatssap saya dan ujug2 bilang kalau cerita Sweet Karma agak mirip dengan film Burnt yang belum lama rilis. Well, saya menulis Sweet Karma sejak tahun 2012 lalu submit ke kompetisi GagasMedia di pertengahan 2013. My friend also knew that fact. Hmm, cerita Burnt sendiri menurut saya cukup berbeda dengan Sweet Karma, hanya di point tokoh utama- seorang Chef yg arrogant, yang terkesan sama. Tapi, Chef Emril sempat dengan kekeuh bilang : Wi, di film Burnt, karakter utamanya juga akhirnya terlibat relationships-jatuh cinta dengan Sous Chef-nya 😄 Ok, ok… di Sweet Karma juga seperti itu, tapi kalau di Sweet Karma, Sous Chef-nya kan dari Indonesia (yay!) Anyway, yg belum beli dan baca, beli dan baca segeraa yaa😄😄😉 #promo-promo-promo
