It wasn't my idea to write a book!

It all started with my "30-day LEGO Architecture Challenge", where I built 30 LEGO architecture projects. The challenges were based on the LEGO Architecture Studio set (21050), and I shared the results from each of my projects on my blog at http://tomalphin.com and a number of LEGO enthusiasts started to follow my work. I even had at least one LEGO builder who did her own LEGO Architecture 30-day challenge based on my ideas.

In February 2014, a couple months after completing the 30-day challenge, I was approached by a publisher asking if I had thought about writing a book about LEGO Architecture. Honestly, the thought had never crossed my mind, but it piqued my interest. I quickly prepared a project proposal, then a sample chapter, and finally did some work to find the right publisher for the project.

I am incredibly proud of the finished book. For about half of the book, I felt like a museum curator, collecting the best LEGO architecture models from LEGO Artists all over the world. The other half of the book is my text and my models, with instructions that you can use to create your own architectural models in 7 different styles.

I hope you like the book, and I look forward to more questions!
