Throughout my childhood I was always told I had a very creative imagination. I was drawn to stories of mythical creatures and all things that would usually give my peers the heebie geebies. Shows like Tales from the Crypt Keeper and Buffy the Vampire Slayer were among some of my favourites.

I developed a strong passion for design and illustration, drawing the ideas that arose in my head and finding great excitement in bringing them to life. This led me to pursue a career in graphic design and marketing so that I could always use my creativity to the fullest.

I have always loved reading and the way a compelling story would allow my mind to absorb its detailed imagery. I began to use writing as a tool to bring my creative thoughts to fruition

Thanks for the inquiry Jason!

There's so many things that make me angry in this world, to focus on one would be an entire book in itself.

I chose to write fiction because it acts as an escape for me. Somewhere I can go to free myself from the problems and issues that surround my everyday to actually exhale. I try not to bring my issues into my work, unless it's related to the story in some way. When I find myself absolutely furious about anything, I release my thoughts into my diary. It's personal and gives me a chance to truly unleash whatever monster may be brewing within me that needs to get out.

Personally, keeping a diary has always been important, especially now as a writer. It's another outlet that releases me from any toxicity that I may be harbouring. Writing when in a mood can change the tone of a story, and unless that's something that's wanted, I find it best to always start with a clean slate. An open mind, free from dark clouds can bring forth so many amazing results. Why deny yourself that freedom?

Hope this answers your questions :)

Michelle Johnson The best and most effective way I found, was to simply walk away. Clear my head - listen to music, go for a drive, draw - then revisit.

Emotions Every Author Has Experienced

There are a slew of emotions an author can go through on a daily - or sometimes hourly - basis. Keeping the creative juices flowing is a task that must be mastered - and even still, those that have will continue to have what I like to call 'moments'.Let's take a look at how it all goes down, shall we?At first, your brain is so full with ideas, the words can't stop flowing majestically out of you.
