Somehow, I have managed to get caught up in writing three books simultaneously in the last few months. One is a collection of short stories about growing up in rural Pennsylvania, one a poetry tome based on moving to the Arizona desert and becoming a septagenarian, and, of course, the fourth LITTLE PRINCESS theology mystery. It feels like a juggling act where I’m in danger of dropping all my balls. Your prayers for my stamina, sanity, and success would be appreciated.

It’s official! LITTLE PRINCESS AND THE THREE RIVERS is available at Amazon. I’d appreciate your feedback and reviews, gentle readers. Your input will help me decide if the series will be continued or not.

The third book in my LITTLE PRINCESS series is currently undergoing editing. I hope to have it completed by Labor Day. Lily P. and her crew once again amaze and befuddle her adults as she appraches those tween years as only she can–with determination and danger.

In the meantime, be sure you’re caught up with the previous two stories of her adventures in Burghtown. Both are available on Amazon.

My second Little Princess book, LITTLE PRINCESS AND TWO DOLLAR BILL, finds our heroine and her Taxigramp two years older but only a bit wiser as they tackle a mystery about a famous Burgtown philanthropist.

Scheduled for release in time for Christmas 2021, LPATDB finds Taxigramp examining the spirit of giving as he hopes his family and friends learn to share their God-given gifts.

I hope you will enjoy the continuing saga of Little Princess, Taxigramp, Gert and Bernie, and the crew.

LOSTALGIA? Is that really a word? In your heart you know it is…and you know exactly what it means too.

Wow! Summer is zooming by so quickly that I feel like a time traveler in a broken machine. The only speed is fast forward.

CARDBOARD CORNER has taken the back burner as the family and I are packing to move south to Pittsburgh, PA.  Still, I hope to be making significant progress this autumn and have this new novel done by spring. In the meantime, LOSTALGIA, my newest poetry collection will be available in a couple of weeks. Check it out. I think you will like it.

Can you believe it? Spring has finally sprung. I thought it might never come. You never know with THE MELT in the real world.

After a winter hiatus, I am working on a new novel I know you will all enjoy. It’s a departure from my clifi novels, set in Pennsylvania and peopled with all new characters. The working title is CARDBOARD CORNER. I think it will surprise and please you, faithful readers.

As spring becomes summer I will keep you posted about this book–and some other projects too. In the meantime, be warm and keep the faith!

Sometimes watching the weather reports and forecasts these past few months I wonder if the phenomenon that I call The Melt in my novels has already begun. Have we passed the tipping point? Is it too late to mitigate the damage we’ve done to our planet’s systems?

If that is true, what comes next? Besides regret, fear, and resignation? How will the powerful and the powerless react? What consequences of our desecrations still remain undiscovered?

In SOME THIN WICKED key characters of THE MELT series investigate what happens when hope is lost and actions seem to no longer have long-term consequences. I hope you look forward to this fifth book about a world all too similar to ours.

Can old dogs learn new tricks? That’s one of the main questions examined in my new novel, SOME THIN WICKED,  coming out early in summer 2018.

Is it possible for people to turn away from one kind of life to live totally differently than they have before? Is there an age at which it becomes too difficult to do so? Do people really want to change? Or would they prefer the world change to become more made in their image?

Set ten years after ORIGINAL THIN in the Republic of Alyeska, this novel examines how characters from the four MELT series novels have evolved–and devolved– in a world increasingly hostile to human habitation.  It wouldn’t be a bad idea to reread the first four novels to refresh your memories before tackling STW. Some events will be both more surprising and more expected if you do.
