Wendi Stewart grew up on a farm in Northwestern Ontario and now makes her home in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. She has been published in The Antigonish Review, The Leaf, the Owen Sound Sun Times, and in Every Second Thursday published by Glenmalure Publications. She currently has columns appearing in the Fort Frances Times and the Chronicle Herald. Meadowlark is her first novel.

She is the mother of four daughters!

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Wendi Stewart I don't think writer's block is real. I think fear of failure sometimes keeps us from writing. I think trying to make our writing fit a certain templa…moreI don't think writer's block is real. I think fear of failure sometimes keeps us from writing. I think trying to make our writing fit a certain template keeps us from writing. I think writing for others keeps us from writing. But when we write freely and without fear and without inhibition the words keep coming. And of course reading good writing loosens up the creativity in each of us.(less)

Pinching Myself

I'm still pinching myself that my book will be released in less than two months. NeWest Press of Edmonton, Alberta will stock their warehouse space with boxes of my book. I can't quite fathom that.
