K.T. Hunter is a lifelong fan of reading just about anything she can get her hands on, from science fiction (her first love) to science fact, from alternate history to art history and true crime. She credits her parents' encouragement of her creativity and their own love of Star Trek as the spark that lit her literary dreams. I am also working on a couple of short stories and hope to begin a screenplay sometime soon.(less)

Usually it is an indicator that I have taken the story down the wrong path and that something needs to change. Perhaps a character made a decision that didn't make sense, or maybe there is something missing in the story's infrastructure. Backing off and taking a look at different ways a scene could play out (or reconsidering the scene's presence in the story) often breaks the writer's block. Sometimes that takes a while -- either thinking about something completely different to give my brain a rest or even writing on a different project!(less)
