We welcome 2023 in the midst of Mars and Mercury Retrograde. While this may not seem ideal, it may give you some relief to know that many *difficulties you have been plagued with since early December will begin resolving themselves by January 22nd.  

*difficulties in specific regard to finances, communication, and low energy.

 

January 2, 2023: Venus enters Aquarius, making people more helpful and selfless. With the Moon approaching Full, now is a good time for love/sex magick and all spells involving influencing the emotions of others. However, it is important to note that now is not a good time to have difficult conversations regarding commitment. This concerns both romantic commitments, as well as careers. Do your best to stay neutral. Miscommunication is rampant, making most set plans or group intentions obsolete in a matter of weeks.

 

January 6, 2023 (3:07 PM PST / 6:07 PM EST): Full Moon in Cancer highlights the importance of family and home and draws upon protective energies. This is an opportune time for rituals to protect the home, including the Old Norse Guardian Ritual. I recommend combining equal parts Sacred Power Ritual Blend with Viking Ritual Blend or Tiger's Eye Ritual Blend. Roll a beeswax ritual candle in the mixture and burn it in the center of your home. Cusp the lit candle with both hands and consciously emit energies (laser-focused thoughts) of protection and peace. Scatter the remnants around the perimeter of your home. 

 

January 8, 2023: Lunar Apogee (when the Moon is furthest from the Earth) causes energy to contract and may make you feel extra spacey or distracted today. Avoid detail-oriented tasks today. Excellent night for divination or making contact with the deceased. 

 

January 12, 2023: Finally, Mars goes direct! Has something been slowing your progress since late October/early November? Perhaps a project or an opportunity came to a screeching halt or disappeared altogether? Narrow down on what transpired around that time, and expect things to resume in the coming weeks. If you have been feeling low energy since October, you may expect it to slowly increase and stabilize around the First Quarter Moon of January 21st. Consider doing a Path Opening Ritual around that time. 

 

January 15, 2023: Last Quarter Moon in Libra can bring about feelings of regret or childhood trauma. Know that this is temporary, perfectly normal, and will subside within 48 hours. If you're struggling, burn a beeswax candle braid dusted in equal parts Blossom Ritual Blend and Tiger's Eye Blend. Alternatively, burn a Rosemary smudge bundle around your body, paying extra attention to the 12 inches above your head, your shoulder blades, and about 12-24 inches in front of your chest.

 

January 18, 2023: You may begin to feel more confident about your decisions and plans as Mercury goes direct. That doesn't mean you should abandon all care in the world, but a sigh of relief is certainly in order!

 

January 20, 2023: Happy birthday, Aquarius! With Sun entering Aquarius, now is the time for self-development. Although this transition often encourages risk-taking and exploring the outer edges of your comfort zone, wait until after the Witch's New Moon of January 23rd to make any leaps. 

 

January 21, 2023 (12:53 PM PST / 3:53 PM EST): Dark Moon in Aquarius brings a night for stillness, banishment, and divination. We look within to find our own balance of darkness and light. As we find our inner balance, we naturally grow out of our old ways of being. We ripen. We mature. We are more confident with ourselves and the world around us. We know what we want. And just as important, we know exactly what it is we don't want. We let go of procrastination. We let go of fear. We let go of the judgments from other people. And most importantly, we let go of all that no longer serves us. On the Dark Moon, we banish. 

 

January 22, 2023: We ring in the Lunar New Year and embrace the Year of the Rabbit! I am a big proponent of utilizing Chinese astrology in Witchcraft and divination. Why? Life is cyclical. Understanding and tuning yourself to the undercurrent of the year holds a profound power. Not only can it assist with decision-making and planning, but it gives us a glimpse of the general theme and energies of the year.

 

January 22, 2023: Uranus goes Direct and typically brings a sense of much-needed stability. You may have noticed that since late August, you have been more reactive than proactive. Meaning you have been responding to external change rather than initiating the change yourself. If you have felt mentally sluggish and had low motivation throughout the last 4 months, you may expect a significant improvement in the coming 2-3 weeks. 

 

January 28, 2023: First Moon in Taurus is your green light for launching new ventures, making plans, and establishing concrete goals. Rituals under this influence are ripe for rapid manifestation - particularly those that involve inner determination and finances. The Wise Woman Ritual will be particularly potent tonight!

The Moon is of crucial importance for the Old World Witch. The phases of the Moon and its cycle impact the potency of the ritual and its successes.

 

Keep in mind; the Old World Witch does not follow the exact terminology and specifications of modern astrologers and astronomers. We uphold the visual interpretation and energies of the Moon; therefore, our spells are similarly aligned.  

 

Can rituals be performed during the "wrong" Moon phase? 

Performing a ritual during the improper phase of the Moon will not lead to disastrous effects. Rather, it will hinder the fruition of the outcome. This is because the Moon amplifies spellwork and works in harmony with the energies exerted by the Witch. 

Please note, if you are in spiritual danger or are plagued by harmful energies, DO NOT DELAY OR WAIT for the Moon. Instead, proceed with your ritual with fierce determination and personal power.

 

​The times are listed to assist you in planning your rituals. Some things to keep in mind: 

 

If you cannot align your rituals with the date and time indicated, a good rule of thumb is to do the spell the night before. For example, if you are planning to perform a spell to attract financial prosperity into your life, but the Moon is Full during an inconvenient time (say, 10am on a Tuesday while you're at work), it is advised to conduct the ritual the night before. As the Moon grows to a Full, so too will your access to the energies that are harmonizing the manifestation of your ritual. 

 

The Witch's New Moon  does not have an exact time. It reveals itself when the very first crescent of the Moon is visible. Based on your location on Earth, some will see the Witch's New Moon in the earlier part of the given date(s). Others will see it only toward the end. With some variations, the Witch's New Moon rises in the daytime before noon and becomes visible in the day sky. It will be most visible at sunset and usually sets well before midnight. The Witch's New Moon is the same percentage worldwide, both in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. However, which way the tips of the Witch's New Moon point depend on the time, date, and location on Earth. ​When you see the very first moon crescent in the sky, know that the Witch's Moon is upon you

 

It is extremely important to note that the Witch's New Moon is different from the Dark Moon! The New Moon of the Old World Witch is called the Witch's New Moon. It is when the very first crescent or sliver of the Moon is visible. ​This is typically 2-3 nights after the Dark Moon. August 5th, 2022: First Quarter Moon in Scorpio intensifies emotion. Whatever you have been feeling the previous 48 hours will multiply. This is particularly noticeable if anger, passion, or exaggerated emotions are already present. 

Excellent time for rituals that involve influencing thoughts or emotions of others. Recommended First Quarter Moon Rituals:

August 10, 2022: Moon at Perigee (orbiting closest to the Earth) in Capricorn. Pressure surrounding work and physical-plane decisions weigh heavily on the mind. Pay close attention to your thoughts. It will be too easy to let yourself go down the rabbit hole of negativity or pessimism. Stop yourself before it's too late. Stop the negative vortex and prevent the unwanted from manifesting.

 

August 11, 2022: Venus enters Leo and beauty is inescapable. While this is the ideal time for all beauty treatments (including cosmetic surgery), it’s far too easy to overspend. If you have been considering remodeling or decorating your home, begin now and complete before September 4th.

 

August 11, 2022, 6:36 PM PST / 9:36 PM EST: Full (Super) Moon in Aquarius will appear large and exceptionally beautiful. With Venus in Leo and the Moon in close proximity to the Earth, true romance and the desire for luxury are intensified. This Full Moon is ideal for the Sacred Full Moon Ritual, Devotion Ritual, and Charisma Ritual.

 Generally speaking…

Fire Signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) and Air Signs (Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius) will be most impacted by this Full Moon. Although overspending should be avoided, approximately 28 hours before and 28 hours after the Full Moon a wise investment will present itself. It may be a good time to purchase stock, book a service, or invest in your health.

 

Water Signs (Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio) will continue to crave affection and beauty, as they did during July’s Dark Moon. If you are feeling depressed, hold off on love spells Instead, take this time to heal your heart:Combine 1 teaspoon of Black Walnut Powder, 2 teaspoons of Blossom Ritual Blend, and 2 tablespoons of honey in a 2-quart pot of water. Slowly bring to a boil. Breathe deeply and consciously breathe out all existing anxiety. Stir clockwise and repeat  “I now draw love and passion into my life. The person whom I seek is seeking me. And now they find me.” Draw a bath and pour in the ritual water. Fully immerse your body in the water at least 8 times. As you do, repeat the above statement. Before draining the bathtub, fill a cup with the bathwater. Pour the reserved water in a stream that leads from the sidewalk to your front door. If a bath is not available, mix the ritual water with plain water in a large container. Step inside your shower and pour the water over yourself 8 times. You may place a bowl at your feet to collect the water for remnant disposal as described above. 

 

Earth Signs (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn) will be ready for - or take one step closer to - commitment. Exceptionally powerful Full Moon for Devotion Rituals. 

 

August 19, 2022: Last Quarter Moon in Taurus highlights the contradiction between our actions and our desires. Procrastination may be particularly prevalent until August 21st. 

To avoid procrastination: 

Roll a single ritual candle in ½ teaspoon of Viking Ritual Blend and ½ teaspoon of Attainment Ritual Blend. On a piece of paper write what you wish to achieve. Do not write any negatives. Stand the candle upright on the piece of paper or place it in a candle holder on top of the paper. As you light the candle, say aloud (yes, audibly) your written statement. If possible, burn the candle on your desk, before leaving for work, or first thing in the morning.

You may also do this ritual on behalf of another person, whether they’re aware of it or not. Instead of the piece of paper, use the back of the person's photograph. If possible, attach some biological material (such as hair) to the photo. 

 

 

August 22, 2021: Sun enters Virgo and practicality reigns supreme. The desire for progress and achievement is brought back into the spotlight. Virgo energies can drastically help unravel complex situations. Loopholes will be discovered, bridges will be crossed, and missing puzzle pieces will be found. The next 27 days can bring a great deal of breakthroughs – all to make your mundane life easier. The key to this is to avoid procrastination! July 22, 2022: Sun enters Leo, and jovial energies fill the air. People tend to be more generous during this transit (lasting through August 20), and people also tend to overspend on luxury items. 

If you are selling your home, you are in luck! 

First, before an open house, spruce up your home with fresh flowers and citrine crystals elegantly disguised as mundane home decor. Then, sprinkle a pinch of Song of the Siren and Opulence Ritual Blend in the entry of your home, ensuring any potential buyers step on it upon entering. The buyers will fall in love with the home and won't stop thinking about it. An offer will come shortly after.

Fire Signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) or those with fire element-dominant natal charts (learn your dominant element) will be most impacted by this Dark Moon. You may come to a painful realization that you are not living up to your full potential. Missed opportunities or regrets regarding paths not taken will suddenly come to the forefront of the mind. Water Signs (Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio) will desperately crave affection and beauty. Long-distance relationships may become a bit painful, as the longing for your other half becomes almost intolerable. July 28, 2022: Jupiter Retrograde is associated with affiliations, opportunities, expansion, and in many cases, prosperity. Every 9 months, Jupiter pulls us slightly off-track and forces us to realign - sometimes on a new path altogether. Although this may seem like a destructive transit, it actually prevents you from wasting your time on ill-fated projects or paths.

Jupiter goes direct on November 23rd, 2022 and will gradually put you back on track. By February 14, 2023, what fell apart will realign and rearrange. 

Pay close attention to themes or repetitive occurences. Perhaps you continually stumble across the same book no matter where you go. Maybe you continually overhear a conversation about one specific place. Take note. The meaning behind these events will unveil itself before mid-February. 

July 30/31st, 2022: The Witch's New Moon in Leo quickly moves into Virgo and inspires rapid action. Eagerness to accomplish difficult tasks will be activated today. Expect a productive day!

The to-do lists keep getting longer, and the checkmarks can't seem to catch up. If you have wanted to take a mental health day, plan it for today. Productivity will be considerably hindered today, so unplug and unwind.

 

May 9, 2022: First Quarter Moon in Leo inspires action. Excellent day for rituals involving love and prosperity. This energy can help increase productivity, but it can also painfully remind us that we are not living up to our fullest abilities. Very lucky day for receiving beauty services, such as getting a haircut, plastic surgery, etc.

May 10, 2022: Mercury Retrograde begins. Unlike the last few Mercury Retrogrades, you may find that this will be fairly mild or slow. Unexpected changes are inevitable, as are some technical or communication delays, but most of you will sail through this retrograde without too many hassles. 

If an important event or task is at hand, write out how you would like the situation to unfold on a piece of paper. Sparingly dust the paper with Mercury Ritual Blend and lay the beeswax ritual candle in the center. While repeating your written statement (or the keynotes of the statement), firmly roll the candle in the herbal mixture. The beeswax picks up both the intent of your statement and the herbs that help facilitate the energetic exchange. Light the candle and hold it at a 45-degree angle over the center of the paper. Allow 3-4 drops of wax to drip into the center, creating a small pool of wax. Quickly place the base of the candle into the pool of wax and hold firmly until the wax hardens and the candle can stand upright by itself. The candle will either self-extinguish, or it will light the paper on fire and slowly consume it. Ensuring the environment is safe, allow the flame to smolder and fade naturally. 

 

May 15, 2022: Full Moon in Scorpio and Lunar Eclipse intertwine sexuality and emotional wounds. All emotions are heightened, and the importance of relationships becomes uncomfortably clear. With the Moon closely tied with our emotions and hearts, lunar eclipses are well-known for clearing the skeletons in the closet and throwing away the excess baggage. Old pain, old drama, old emotions must now be left in the past. 

 Important: Unless you are a very experienced Witch or have a particular fondness for this energy, I do not advise any rituals for this evening. The energy is too erratic and tends to be unpredictable. Instead, focus on self-love, healing, sexuality, and the overall enjoyment of this incredible astronomical event.

 

 

May 17, 2022: The Moon is orbiting closest to the Earth today than at any other time during this cycle. Excellent day for brainstorming or getting together with like-minded individuals. Exceptionally deep conversations and ideas are to be expected. Remember not to get too carried away with finalizing the details, as Sagittarius lunar energies and Mercury Retrograde are likely to skip important details. Burn a Rosemary Smudge the morning of May 17th or 18th to help solidify ideas and associated energies. 

 

May 22, 2022: Sun enters Gemini and energizes social interaction and intellectual pursuits. Under this 28-day influence, it's common to jump from one hobby to the next. The physical seemingly cannot keep up with the mental. There isn't enough time in the day to pursue every hobby, every person, and every adventure that will pique your interest. Boredom is everyone's kryptonite under this transit. April 9, 2022: First Quarter Moon in Cancer puts full focus on family, close relationships, and the home. It is a fortunate day for medical procedures, especially those concerning the kidneys or skin. 

In terms of magick, the most potent rituals will be those involving emotional healing or energetic shifts, especially rituals on behalf of others. If energy feels off from the lunar apogee or an argument earlier in the week, burn a rosemary smudge in the early morning. Starting from the back to the front of the house, smudge every window, doorway, and mirror. Scatter the ashes outside your front door or walkway.

 

April 14, 2022: Mars enters Pisces, which softens aggression but can also hinder productivity. Depending on where Mars falls on your natal chart, you may become far too passive or overpowered by fire-strong individuals. This passive energy will greatly stabilize after May 22nd. 

 

April 16, 2022 (11:55AM PST / 3:55PM EST): Full Moon in Libra intensifies emotions and the need for beauty and civility. Romance blossoms under this influence and is energetically potent for love spells involving devotion and marriage (without assertive coercion). 

If you are holding on to any love ritual remnants, place them overnight in the light of the Full Moon.If your love spell has already successfully manifested and you wish for the energies to continue evolving on your behalf, bury the remnants in your backyard under the moonlight. 

 

April 19, 2022: Lunar Perigee (the Moon is closest to the Earth within this cycle) in Sagittarius strongly influences the desire for lifestyle autonomy and eccentricity. 

If you have been living a "cookie-cutter" life that feels artificial to you, the energy of the April 18th-20th may feel particularly uncomfortable and perhaps even depressing. On the other side of the coin, if you live a creative and "outside-the-box" life, you will experience profound joy, inner peace, and confidence. 

 

April 20, 2022: Sun enters Taurus, and the focus turns to physical experiences and daily lives. Under this influence, many tangible investments (including home projects) and business advancements will be naturally set up for slow but steady success. April 26, 2022: Mercury Retrograde pre-shadow begins in Taurus. Between now and May 9th, complete all physical detail-oriented or mechanical tasks. Whether fixing your car, installing a new sprinkler system, or moving into a new home, do your best to cut any loose strings and make sure everything is in good working order.

From April 29th through mid/late-October, you will find that a central theme of deep psychological and much-needed demolition will develop around a specific area of your life. March 2, 2022 (9:34AM PST / 12:34PM EST / 5:34PM UTC): Dark Moon in Pisces tends to cause an unpick in self-doubt and thoughts of past failures. Pitfalls of the past will rise out of the darkness. This influence is specifically noticeable in Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces) and Air signs (Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius). 

Regardless of your Sun sign, for the next 3 nights, it is essential to mentally balance between what you are doing and what you think you should be doing. It's okay to let go of outworn goals or values. Realign with a new path. When the first crescent of the Witch's New Moon reveals itself on March 4, it will be time to start anew.

February 4th, 2022: Mercury Direct! Ah... Mercury Retrograde comes to an end, but don't forget to triple-check everything just yet! 

For some people, a boomerang effect makes the week after Mercury direct somewhat unpleasant, as mistakes made in the prior weeks suddenly make themselves know. 

Although the Mercury post-shadow will impact us until February 24th, 2022, you can begin making plans without any fears of unexpected changes. 

On the morning of Mercury Direct, I like to a Rosemary smudge bundle  or Lavender around my home. It helps clear stagnant energies of miscommunication and annoyances over what failed to work. Think of Rosemary and Lavender as energy stabilizers. They help reduce the bearing of previous unpleasant emotions, thoughts, and actions. Simultaneously opening pathways for emotional and energetic stability.

 

February 6th, 2022: First Quarter Moon in Taurus compels us to take action and reminds us of our power. If waiting/wanting to hear from a romantic interest, now is an excellent time to perform the communication rituals for lovers. Rituals for influence and control are also particularly powerful when started tonight.

Three or four times every year, we experience the illusion of the planet Mercury traveling backward, which is called Mercury Retrograde. Mercury rules communication, travel, technology, and the legal system. When Mercury is in retrograde, these areas of life are at their absolute weakest point. It is the absence of Mercurial energy that is the cause of these problems.  

 

Everyone is impacted by Mercury Retrograde to varying degrees, all based on the position of Mercury in your natal chart at the moment you were born. Having a natal chart reading with an experienced astrologer will help you understand Mercury's importance in your life, and how it will impact you during its retrograde. 

 

What To Avoid During Mercury Retrograde:

International travel, particularly to conflict-stricken countries. Now is not the time for extreme cultural contrast.

Confrontations and difficult conversations. Keep the drama or special requests to a bare minimum.

 Do not ask for a raise and and do not try to suddenly solve problems with family members. Communication will be at its weakest point until a week after Mercury Retrograde. 

Do not file important paperwork. Do not file your taxes (or even prepare paperwork), do not file divorce papers, and do not sign important documents. Yes, this means you will need to prepare before Mercury goes retrograde! 

 Avoid large purchases, such as homes or cars. And if you must, please triple-check all contracts!

Medical treatments are safe during this time, but be prepared for scheduling delays.

Clerical errors are prevalent during this time, so verify (and re-verify) your prescriptions to make sure you were prescribed the correct product and dosage! ​

Whatever has been on your back burner before the retrograde, will now be front and center. Whatever you have been avoiding or delaying may now come around to bite you.

What is a Mercury Retrograde Pre-Shadow?

The metaphorical dark cloud is approaching. Mercury Retrograde pre-shadow is when you can expect miscommunications and technical glitches to begin ramping up. Car repairs on the horizon? Submitting new construction plans for approval? Court date? Salary negotiations? Avoid unpleasant delays and misunderstandings; make sure to complete everything before the pre-shadow date!

 

What is Mercury Retrograde Post-Shadow?

Almost as soon as Mercury goes direct, a post-shadow is formed. Although the retrograde is now over, the metaphorical dark cloud has not yet passed. There is still work to be done before normalcy can reign. During the early part of this phase, Mercury is still moving slowly, and thus the effects can be more intense. Depending on where Mercury is in your natal chart, this Period of time can feel like a boomerang. People often experience this phase of the cycle as a time when the consequences of not paying attention to details or asking the right questions become apparent.

What Can Be Done About & During Mercury Retrograde:

Mercury Retrograde is an excellent time to channel your creative side. Whether it be painting, imaginative writing, or spiritual work, this can be an expanding stretch of time. 

 

For the majority of people (myself included), Mercury Retrograde is a very unpleasant time. Between constant technical difficulties, miscommunication, change of travel plans, and website server failures, these are the most unproductive periods throughout the year.

Utterly exhausting.

In the last decade or so, I have been performing (and advocating for) ritual work during Mercury Retrograde to propel and increase Mercurial energies.

 

A Mercury Ritual can negate the unpleasantness of Mercury Retrograde by energetically moving the influences of the planet forward. By strengthening the temporary Mercurial weaknesses, you can safely pass through these astrological events without a scratch, an annoyance, or a delay. ​

We start 2022 on a very dark night. The approaching Dark Moon is whispering and guiding us into the new year. 

The theme for 2022 will be downsizing and simplifying. Not necessarily out of necessity, but because 2021 was simply too exhausting. Too explosive. We are ready to tread lightly, speak softly, and move forward in grace. 

In contrast, 2021 was entered on a brightly lit near-Full Moon. Regardless of your political stance, the first 21 days of 2021 were highly emotional, erratic, and unpredictable. 

 

That is now behind us. It is time to start anew.

 And so we begin…

 

January 2nd, 2022: As the Moon disappears from the winter night sky, we now experience the Dark Moon in Capricorn. Tonight is a time for stillness, contemplation, and banishment. 

Capricorn is a realistic sign that loves having solid ground under its feet. The energies of this first Dark Moon of 2022 will help you find your footing and get out of the limiting hole in the ground you've been stuck in. This includes walking away from those who are holding back. 

Many Earth signs will feel a strong energetic incline to quickly disengage from friendships and relationships. Follow that inclination.   

Allow the darkness of this Dark Moon to reveal your inner (AND outer!) blockages and banish all that no longer serves you. 

 

January 7th, 2022: With the Moon void of course and Mercury Retrograde approaching, now is a good time to begin your Mercury Retrograde Remedy rituals. If you have important documents to file or detail-oriented tasks, finish them within 96 hours. 

 

January 9th, 2022: First Quarter Moon in Aries compels us to take action and reminds us of our power. Excellent day for courage rituals, such as the Fearless Determination Ritual. 

 

January 14th, 2022: With the Moon at apogee (farthest from the Earth), distractions and the seeming inability to focus may be encountered. Put a piece of Black Onyx in your pocket and carry it with you throughout the day. Burn Palo Santo to help stabilize energy. Focus on the 3 feet above your head, 3 feet below the soles of your feet (yes, you will need to lay or sit for this), and the base of your spine. If flexible, try to smudge your shoulder blades as well. 

 

January 14th, 2022: Mercury Retrograde is now in full gear. Avoid making big plans, big purchases, or signing important legal documents until after February 5th. Better yet, wait until the Witch's New Moon of March 4/5th. 

 

January 17th, 2022: This Full Moon in Virgo will be full of peaks and valleys. Not necessarily because anything good or bad will happen, but because a sudden comprehension of "realistic possibilities" will hit like a ton of bricks. What goals or tasks are possible? What aren't? Life becomes quite black and white - even if only for 48 hours or so. 

Excellent evening for strengthening your psychic self-defense and building an energetic barrier yourself: Roll a single beeswax candle in about 1/4 teaspoon of the Tiger's Eye Ritual Blend. Light the candle, and in a smudging motion, carefully "smudge" the space 8 inches over your head, 8 inches below your feet (you will need to sit or lay), your front door, and your back door. Scatter the wax and herb remnants (if any) on the sidewalk or road outside your home. 

 

January 18th, 2022: Uranus Retrograde comes to an end. Uranus Direct in Taurus can bring about completely unexpected events for the next 2 weeks.

 

January 20th, 2022: Sun enters Aquarius in an oracle-like fashion. Rigid hierarchies are now immediately challenged. Egalitarian principles of humanity, compassion and equal rights take the reins. Excellent sun cycle for self-development, taking risks, and exploring the outer edges of your comfort zone.

 

January 25th, 2022: If you're feeling overly sad today - blame the Moon. Tonight's Last Quarter Moon in Scorpio tends to dig up the emotions (or even drama) from a failed romance. If you're ready to permanently cut the strings to failed romance, do the Cease & Release Ritual tonight. 

Alternatively, if you're looking to break a union (such as cause turmoil in someone else's relationship or cause a divorce), this is a potent night for the Apple Curse.

 

January 29th, 2022: Venus Retrograde comes to an end. The emotional rollercoasters begin to subside. Many breakups happen during Venus Retrograde - only to get back together in mere weeks after Venus Direct. 

If you have spent the last 6-7 weeks wanting to leave a relationship, wait a little bit longer to make a decision. If at all possible, wait until the last week of February. Venus Retrograde "artificially" intensifies any feelings of discontent. As March 1st comes around, you may realize that your imperfect relationship is just perfect enough for you.  

Ex-lovers have a habit of coming out of the woodwork during the pre-shadow phase of Venus Retrograde (most of November 2021). If reconciliation did not occur, but you are still determined to make it work, begin the Reconciliation Ritual (Come to Me Love Spell) on March 10th. 

If you began dating someone new between mid-November and now, the next 3 weeks will be interesting. Either the person will leave your life for good, or they will stay for the long haul. By the First Quarter Moon of March 10th, you will have a straight answer. It will also be the ideal time to begin any love spells for devotion and commitment. 

 

January 30th, 2022: The second Dark Moon of the month marks a need to break habits and worn out thoughts. On this "Blue Moon", I highly recommend doing a thorough but general banishing ritual to clean up and remove lingering negativity, wandering entities that have clung themselves to you, unpleasant energies, and thoughts that aren't your own.
