YES!!!!! I finished The Darkest Storm! In hindsight I should’ve done this last month or even the month before but this time the writer’s block had hit hard. In any case, it’s done now. Only needs editing and a cover and getting it out before the summer is looking more and more likely.

So yay me!

And now I can focus on a new project I’ve started with one of my closest friends and all time writing buddy. Is it sappy to say that she completes me? hahaha Anyway more about that at a later date

I've come to the conclusion that I'm only 2,5 chapters away from finishing my current novel. I can't wait for it to be done. Mostly because I've already something else in the works with a fellow writer. A colab between us! Can't wait to start on that one!

So I've decided to do some more active promotion for my book and my facebook page. Because you know I really want to be known out there in the world. So far it's been a struggle.

Being an indie author isn't as easy as some people might think. You have to do everything yourself and if you lack the funds you have to rely on the goodness of your friends and hope that they will share what an awesome book you wrote and get it out there for you. Since my target audience is people who can read English and love to do so, I'm meeting deaf ears of course in my circle of friends. I mean, I'm from the Netherlands, most of my friends aren't proficient in English or want to put the effort in reading my book.

It's a brick wall I keep running into and it sucks. But I'm not giving up. My second book will come out this year and I will keep on promoting. There's a giveaway planned on Goodreads and I already started with a contest on my facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ellenwindvan...

So I'm suffering from writers block and I know that I should just go and reread everything that I've written thus far for book 2 but I keep finding myself doing something else instead of just that.

Procrastination thou art not my friend! Yet I'm still doing it and it sucks because I want to finish this book. It's almost done as well! Only a few chapters left, some editing, a shiny cover and we're good to go!

Now if I only manage to get myself out of this procrastination block thingy majig.

You know when you have this plan to write during the six weeks you're off from work and you find yourself in the last week of said vacation and you haven't written a word yet?

Weeeell... *guilty smile* It's been such a good summer, lovely weather, awesome trip to Germany with the family that my brain didn't even want to settle down for some serious writing.

I feel the muses stir though, so I'm pretty confident that I'll be writing before I have to start work again next week.
