So if I try to write something and the words don't flow, I don't stress out about it. I put that project aside and try another one. If no words come easily, I walk away from my computer. My brain has let me know there are no ideas ready to emerge from its quirky depths yet. If I'm lucky I might do something I enjoy while I wait, like baking a cake or working in my flower beds. But more than likely, I'll proofread a textbook for one of my clients, load or unload the dishwasher, or do some other mundane adult chore. This is both a privilege and a responsibility. Being a writer also allows me to inspire people. Sometimes books help us discover our own potential to rise up and make big differences in small ways.(less)
