Bill Maxwell has been a script doctor, a pencil-and-paper game designer, a LARP director, a video game designer, a second-unit producer, an editor, and an author.

He’s adapted Raymond Feist’s award winning Riftwar universe to a video game (Return to Krondor). He has built story, dialogue and content for Star Trek products (including Star Trek: Starfleet Academy).

He also worked on numerous roleplaying products for Mattel, Sony, White Wolf, Last Unicorn, White Moon and Holistic Design.

A third-generation Southern Californian, Bill Maxwell is the grandson of acclaimed screenwriter Ernest Pagano and actress Norma Drew.

The fi…moreIt's funny; I spent a lot of time going past Valentine's day trying to remember who stood out for me. And the answer consistently surprised me. The first couple I can remember that had an impact on me was Lessa and her dragon, Ramoth. It was the way it was presented; intimate but not sexual. Nurturing and powerful. It sparked passion in other parts of her life, shaping her relationship with F'lar but it remained her single most important defining relationship and the one that lasted a lifetime.

Since Anne McCaffrey's Pern, there have been a number of others. Neil Gaiman's different takes on family and love and friendship always warm my heart (or scare me; sometimes it's hard to tell the difference). Dresden and his goddaughter -- and her parents, later in the series when they became more developed -- showed a great side of family.

If you can't tell, my favorite couples aren't necessarily about romance. But they are always about love.(less)

That makes me look like a magpie sometimes, especially if the block's bad but I'm okay with that.

If that's not working, I go looking for strange experiences: sweat lodges, goth clubs, museums, beaches, solitary walks in the woods, creepy haunted locations, good restaurants. I watch people and keep my ears and eyes open. Drama or inspiration then just seems to find me.(less)
