For over a decade, Topher has been plagued by mental illness. Through countless diagnoses, dozens of medications, doctors, counselors, and unbearable psychological pain, writing seemed to be not only an escape, but a way to make sense of what he was feeling.

What was once a journal meant never to be read by anyone else turned into a book. Topher saw the state of the mental health system and the stigma surrounding mental disorders and set out to show people what suffering from such an unpredictable and insidious illness really looked like.
