FOR MY SWEET FRIEND, CHRISTIE

I’ve thought about writing this blog post for several weeks now. Thought about what I would say about my sweet friend when she passed away. I had heard that she wasn’t doing well, that she was losing her long battle with cancer, and I knew I wanted to write a blog post and tell the world about her–to honor her after she would be gone, I just didn’t know when that would be . . . well, as much as I wish the time hadn’t come, that she could go on living with her husband and four sons, it has. M...

Titles which have a star next to them are those which I have personally read (and feel portray Tourette syndrome accurately).

Cover Reveal for TWICE BETRAYED by Gayle C. Krause

I’m so pleased to introduce you to one of my favorite people… Gayle C. Krause. She was a critique partner of mine for several years and not only was one of the first readers for FORGET ME NOT, but she has been a wonderful friend, teacher, and cheerleader along my writing journey. Today I have the pleasure of revealing the cover for her upcoming MG historical fiction novel, TWICE BETRAYED, which will be published March 28, 2017 by Trowbridge Books. It is available now for Pre-Order. ISBN...

COLOR THAT COVER!

So, way back in May, my editor emailed me a copy of FORGET ME NOT’s cover sketch (in black and white). I loved it and couldn’t stop staring at it, so I printed out a copy and left it on my desk overnight.

The next morning, my five-year-old found it, assumed I’d printed out a new coloring page for her (as I often do), colored it with colored pencils, and broughtit to me. I laughed so hard. When I explained to her that it was a picture of my book cover she told me, “Tell them to color it li...

PITCH WARS MENTOR BLOG HOP & WISHLIST 2016

Hello! Ellie Terry here. I am unspeakablyexcited to be a MG mentor for Pitch Wars this year! You’ve got a lot of great mentors to choose from . . . and since I don’t posses magical powers or riches or fame . . . I can’t really give you a good reason to sub to me. (But I do make a delicious cheesecake from a secret family recipe that’s to die for. Just sayin’.)

So, about me. I was Joy McCullough-Carranza’s alternate mentee in Pitch Wars 2014 (and it literally changed my life) so I can’t wa...

HOW I GOT MY BOOK DEAL (Feiwel & Friends)

For those of you who don’t know . . . MY AGENT SOLD MY BOOK!!! Yahoo! Yippee! Yay!I’ve had so many friends, neighbors, writers, and family members ask for specifics, so I thought it’d be fun to do a HOW I GOT MY BOOK DEAL post. (Psst. If you want to start at the beginning of my writing journey, you’ll have to read my HOW I GOT MY AGENT post, first.) What easier way to tell a story than to use a timeline? So here goes . . . May 1, 2015: I signed with my wonderful agent, Steven Chudney. I spe...

HOW I GOT MY AGENT (Steven Chudney)

This blog post was originally posted on August 5, 2015 on my old blog, but it’s such an important one, that I wanted to post it here on the new blog as well! ******************** When I was on the hunt for an agent, I loved reading stories of how other writers had snagged their agents. Each writer’s journey is unique, and they gave me a heaping dose of something I very much needed: hope. I am so excited to finally be able to share my own journey of HOW I GOT MY AGENT with you. ...

CH-CH-CHANGES

As often happens in the publishing world, my debut novel has undergone a title change.

What has been I AM CALLIOPE JUNE is now . . .

———-FORGET ME NOT———-.

Hopefully the book will be “unforgettable” for readers.
