I like the dynamics between Elizabeth and Henry McCord and their kids. Both are strong characters in their own right and they have a great relationship.
My one gripe with the show is the occasional factual error that shows they need a new advisor with a military background. I'm available!(less)

Minor spoiler: some of this book will take place on the Camino de Santiago--The Way of St James. It's a 1200 year old pilgrimage to the supposed resting place of St James who is the brother of--guess who!
My wife and I will be walking "The Way" ourselves starting in April of 2016. So it will be a personal pilgrimage and on-site for the next book: Thomas the Brave. (less)

Wow

On of the most compelling and well written novels I’ve read in years. Based on the ugly truth about occupied France in World War II—which makes it very hard to read at times.
Can’t wait for the movie.

“If success attend me, grant me humility. If failure, resignation to thy will. David Livingstone Scottish”
Dennis Brooke, The Last Apostle

“In a world that is becoming increasingly virtual, the parks remain places of visceral beauty. Places where we can remember that we are but a small part of the life on this planet, and that it is a truly wonderful planet and the only one we've got.”
Nevada Barr

“I have found that it is better to be alone than in the wrong company. A single conversation with the right person can be more valuable than many years of study.. ”
John Mason

“You were born an original.
Don't die a copy.”
John Mason

“...when you give yourself to places, they give you yourself back; the more one comes to know them, the more one seeds them with the invisible crop of memories and associations that will be waiting for you when you come back, while new places offer up new thoughts, new possibilities. Exploring the world is one of the best ways of exploring the mind and walking travels both terrains.”
Rebecca Solnit, Wanderlust: A History of Walking

“In order to write about life first you must live it.”
Ernest Hemingway
