Anna Patrick is the author of the duology "Meditations in Wonderland" and "Midnight in Wonderland," the first of which she wrote after graduating from Boston College, having launched a popular Tumblr under the same title while still in school. Since then, she has worked as a book publicist, digital marketer, and storyteller—and an author by night. She lives in Northern Virginia wine country with her husband, children, and French bulldog. ...more

I think she would make one hell of an interesting dinner guest... if we actually made it through dinner. My version of Alice is different in many ways from Carroll's Alice, but two characteristics I think they share are that they're both intuitive, and learn to see people for who they really are. Those are qualities I enjoy in people and in fictional characters, I love to hear their perceptions of how they view the world and the people in it. I'm sure she would have a lot to say about the way I wrote her.(less)

Martha’s Vineyard is always charming, but there’s something special about WWII era Martha’s Vineyard and I’m so glad Kelly distilled it in this lovely historical fiction novel largely based around her own Grandmother’s stories and experiences! Frankl ...more

I love Liane Moriarty, I’ve read everything she’s ever written, and this might be her funniest novel! So many quotable gems in here. I’m glad to have read her first ever sequel! I think it’s also fascinating how this sequel was so shaped by both the ...more

Anna Patrick is 45% done with Big Little Truths: “I think he was trying to groom me but just, like, incompetently.” (Paraphrasing) there are so many funny one liners in this book I have to muffle giggles while I’m up late feeding my newborn!

I think sad books just find me this summer! I’m sleep deprived so here’s my incoherent review: a lovely glimpse into creole culture in New Orleans. Super sapphic, also a bummer of a family drama. Stunning character names, I mean Delphine and Odette?! ...more

Quotes by Anna Patrick  (?)

“She wandered through the meadow courtyard, only to find that each animal wasn’t really in the meadow courtyard at all. It was no wonder they couldn’t see her, because they couldn’t see themselves. They might be walking, but they didn’t feel the ground beneath their feet, paws, or talons. They were numb to the present moment, escaping into the retreats of their minds. They complained about being alone, and yet there was a meadow courtyard full of animals who were doing the same things and feeling the same way.”
Anna Patrick, Meditations in Wonderland

“In some ways suffering ceases to be suffering at the moment it finds a meaning, such as the meaning of a sacrifice.”
Viktor E. Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning
