Linden S Barclay was born in the Midlands of England, and moved to North Carolina, USA in July of 2013.

Prior to the move, Linden lived in the UK for most of her life, but has traveled extensively, and even spent a year in Cairo just after the Revolution there. She describes that experience as a 'frighteningly eye opening personal evolution.

For me writer's block is often a symptom of other underlying problems, most commonly fatigue, either physical or emotional. Other times it's a symptom of having reached a saturation point with something, and needing to step away for a break. One thing I find helps is having more than one project current. If you get stuck on one, change to another for a time, whether that is a different novel, or short story... planning/outlining instead of writing. A change of activity, or a change of environment can help free the block. If the problem is fatigue, then a nap is the way to go - usually in quiet to give my mind a time and space to process those things that are crammed in there and likely causing the block.(less)

Find others to write 'with' - writing is a lonely business, and if you can find some people to share with, a local writers' group perhaps, it can help. Keep a dream journal, you might be sleeping but your mind keeps on creating even in sleep, oh, and learn to do without a lot of sleep. Characters have no boundaries when it comes to when they will 'speak' to you... and sometimes you have to get it down right away.(less)
