Viccy Adams was born in the USA, raised in the South East of England and currently lives in Edinburgh, Scotland. She has an MA Hons in English Literature from the University of St Andrews and an MLitt and PhD in Creative Writing from Newcastle University. Her creative work has been awarded grants from Arts Council England, the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the British Council and the Leverhulme Trust.

One of the UK's literature representatives at World Event Young Artist in 2012, Viccy won the inaugural STV Digital Spark award in 2014, was shortlisted for the New Media Writing Prize in 2015 and won the People's Choice category. Her writing has been exhibited at the V&A, hung on trees, burnt to fuel a sauna, and translated into Chine

Oh, and leaving the house helps to. Going out to the cinema or theatre, taking a walk, stamping the frustration out. Getting away from the situation that is being difficult helps me tackle it with new eyes - or find something else to write about instead.(less)
