Prisoners' Update
"The Girl in the Mirror" continues to circulate in a federal prison--all male, many are college-educated. My inmate friend sent me new statistics: 38 of the 44 people who have read it have liked it. The other 6 were "scared" by the near-death experience (NDE) and parallel world elements. Some of them said the concepts were "against their religion."
I'm pleased with the results. I knew that the NDE to a parallel world (and not to heaven, as we conceptualize it) would be disturbing to some people. But for me, part of the fun of writing the book was that it might encourage people to think differently, to imagine post-death possibilities other than traditional heaven vs. nothingness.
I'll keep posting updates as I get them from the prison.

R.I.P. Harper Lee
May you rest in peace, Harper Lee. "To Kill a Mockingbird," which I recently re-read, is one of my all-time favorite books.
