Heather Stuart lives part-time on a miniature farm in Florida and the rest of the time wanders other worlds searching for and recording their stories. She has two sons and a menagerie of animals that not only includes dogs and a cat, but also three goats, four chickens, and a tiny dragon that lives in her hair. Silvaea’s Heart is her first published work, but not the first written. An entire cupboard is dedicated to holding the stories of hundreds of other worlds, just waiting to be dusted off, polished a bit and sent out into this world.

It repeated over and over for many nights before I wrote the basics down, and tucked the paper away, forgetting all about it. Then one day I started a writing exercise, describing the scene on my screensaver, and the words ran away with me to this wonderful little world. I pulled the old paper out and revisited a place I saw in a dream. (less)
