Illustrated Book AI
The relentless progress in AI-generated images is incredible.

Following on from my experience of making a website for my second book ('European Odyssey') instead of self-publishing the normal way (Amazon et al.), I've made a web app called Illustrated Book AI. This allows you to enter an online book, chapter-by-chapter and page-by-page, and the app will illustrate the text with AI-generated images.
See what you think - it's at IllustratedBookAI.com.

Early draft of 'European Odyssey'
My first book was about the four months we spent in Greece at the beginning of our big (19 month) trip back to Europe. European Odyssey covers the whole trip. Vienna, Budapest, Berlin, Poland, Greece (twice!), Ireland, Brussels, London, Provence, Piedmont, and Tuscany. It's all in there. An early draft is up on Show your Kids the World!
I love the idea of books on the web. I think the original metaphor of a web 'page' still works really well for books, and it also means I can update the text as often as I need to. Plus, being on the web means I can get feedback. But that means you have to read it. Off you go now.

Cover story
An ebook, much like your ability to drink five pints on a Friday night and get up before lunchtime on Saturday, can change over time, and so it is that my book 'On a Greek Island' has a new cover.
I'd been badgering my brother Gavin for a while to do something for the book, like maybe - oh, I don't know, read it and give it a 5-star review? - but it turned out that was asking too much. He did however paint me a cover. Much better.

I put the new cover on Amazon, naturally, but I don't know how to do that here on Goodreads. I have to be a librarian, apparently. That's what it says when you try and change the details of your own book.
So the cover here on Goodreads, for the time being, is the one I made with Amazon's Cover Creator thingie, which you can use when you upload your book for them to sell. I need to change it to this one, here in the blog post. This writing thing - it's an awful lot like being a webmaster, I tell ya.
