Rebecca Reilly is a retired pastor, a massage therapist, and the author of Christian Sex and Marriage—It’s Complicated.
The Power of Casual Touch
Kaila’s Story – Married 28 years
We’ve been married a long time. I’m not attracted to him anymore. He’s hurt me too much. I don’t want to touch him, much less have sex with him.
Mia’s Story – Married 13 years
It’s not his fault. We’ve just grown apart. I don’t know what to do. I know I don’t want a divorce, but I don’t want him to touch me either.
Anne’s Story – Married 4 years
Everything he does drives me crazy. I don’t know why I married him.
Melina’s Story – Married 21 years
There’s too much resentment. Too much neglect. He’s a good man to other people, but he doesn’t pay attention to…

Welcome to #RRBC SPOTLIGHT AUTHOR ~ REBECCA REILLY!
Interesting reading, no matter what your spiritual beliefs.[image error]
It’s my very great pleasure to be able to host Rebecca on the first day of her Spotlight Author tour! This is because RRBC governing board member Rebecca is usually the person who organises these blog tours, so it’s particularly great for us to finally return the favour and put her right out in the Spotlight herself.

Dog! You’ll Never Look At Your Dog the Same Way Again – by Mike Robbins
This book is a very interesting read with a few twists!
Mike Robbins uses wonderful imagery with a good mix of dialogue, humour and action to introduce Dog and tell his unique story through aspects of disillusionment, war, spiritual beliefs and human nature.
Throughout the book it is evident that Dog isn’t all he seems and Mike uses a nice pace to reveal what is actually going on. He keeps the interest up and makes this a page turner from beginning to end.
Dog develops from a distant and aloof bystander to a personality that fulfills his destiny, and wiggles his way into your heart.
The story has a couple of unexpected twists and turns creating a nicely unique premise. Mike does a good job of keeping the action moving along and finishes with a touching ending.

Discovering Your Allergies
Have you ever had someone, like a doctor or nutritionist, ask you what you had for breakfast and not be able to remember?
With our hectically frantic lives, many of us can’t remember what we were doing a short time ago, never mind some time before taking the kids to school and daycare, running back home to pick up a lunch someone forgot, the four meetings with your boss, clients, co-workers and the plumber who was called in to your house by the neighbours when your pipes bursting flooded their basement.
This is why when trying to discover what types of allergic symptoms may be affecting you and their causes can be practically impossible without keeping track physically. If we can’t think of what we had for breakfast this morning, how are we going to remember everything we encountered three days earlier?
Yes, three days. Delayed reactions can take up to 72 hours to show up and in the case of some substances (medical contrast dye) even up to seven days!
In my book, I’m Not Crazy… I’m Allergic!, I discuss journaling in more detail and why it is important to help you start finding your triggers. Even if you are able to go in for all the different allergy testing, journaling is still your best bet for confirming exactly what affects you and how.
Tracking daily routines, foods, environments and symptoms can seem rather daunting when you first start, but it is one of the things that helps me identify immediately when something is wrong and what it is. After you have established a safe daily routine that creates no reactions, make sure that if you want to stray that you only stray with one variable at a time. Ie. Eating at McDonalds. If that is unusual and you get sick, it’s pretty easy to pick apart what you ate and narrow down the possible culprits. If you are eating questionable items all the time, you will never pinpoint what is giving you issues.
I just read an article on http://www.dailymail.co.uk, on a man who cured his allergies after 5 years of tracking everything! Yes, he was desperate. For him allergies were far worse to deal with than the keeping track of everything he came in contact with and how many times he sneezed! (See “Man cures his pollen allergy by tracking every sneeze for FIVE years and analysing what made his allergies worse” on dailymail.co.uk)
Luckily the man, Thomas Christiansen, was a software programmer and developed his own way to keep track. His app, Mymee app , helped him track a variety of things to help build his case on what he was reacting to and when.
We can’t all develop our own tracking software, and some of us can’t afford fancy gadgets, but pens and paper are available in most areas. Whatever method you use for tracking your symptoms and possible triggers, make sure to include dates, times, foods, environments (home, work, restaurant, farmer’s field), as well as things like mood, pain, sneezing, mucus production and general feeling of well-being – or not.
Tracking these things for a month or two may not give you any startling revelations, but as you do start to notice things you possibly react to and remove or limit them, the knowledge from journaling can snowball.
Until next time, keep healthy and stay safe!
Wicca – A Beginner’s Guide to Witchcraft, Spells, Rituals and Magick by Cassandra Larsen
This book is very well written and is a great beginner’s guide to Wicca!
I love this book and wish it had been around when I was looking for information years ago!
I really appreciate how Cassandra Larsen makes it very clear up front what Wicca is and is not, including the fact that doing a spell on someone else without their permission is not what the Wiccan philosophy is all about.
The practice exercises are easy to comprehend and Cassandra gives direction on how to take these lessons to the next level so the practitioner can continue to grow. The explanations of the spells and celebrations are simple, yet very beautiful and she makes it all understandable to even the most uninformed beginner.
The best part of all, Cassandra points out the most important part of any magick isn’t all the paraphernalia, words or potions. “The most important part of magick is YOU!”

Eat Less, Live Longer: Your Practical Guide to Calorie Restriction with Optimal Nutrition by Anca Ioviţă
Anca Ioviţă uses a wide variety of studies and very compelling arguments to show how healthy restriction of calories can not only help with longevity but also helping to prevent age-related diseases such as cardiovascular disease or cancer.
She offers extensive information on the types of nutritionally dense foods, how to find them and how to choose the best of them. She challenges readers to expand their food choices and offers ideas for less-known items and how to incorporate them into their daily diets.
This is a realistic look at how to maintain a life-style, not a fad-diet that puts the reader in the yo-yo state of weight loss/weight gain, from someone who is living it and has studied it.
The book combines a mix of complex medical explanations and very easy to follow food choice and preparation, along with practical application suggestions. The complexity will appeal to some, but others may want to have a dictionary close at hand. Personally, I love the challenge to look further into the types of testing Anca suggests for helping to monitor progress and why it is necessary.
