“I became fascinated with the story of the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence when I interviewed Scott Syfert on Charlotte Readers Podcast about his non-fiction book on the topic. There were too many interesting facts and too many conspiracies involved in the tale not to write a novel with the Meck Dec at the center of the action.”
Landis Wade, Deadly Declarations

“Christmas is a fun theme for a courtroom tale, because like that "Miracle on 34th Street", strange things have been known to happen when Christmas and the law come face to face.”
