Christopher Beckwith, 45, was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, but has lived in Atlanta since 1970 and considers himself a native. Formerly employed as a computer technician, Beckwith says he found life unfulfilling in the corporate world and yearned for a more rewarding means to make his mark on the world.

Craving a better life for himself and for the chance to make a difference in the lives of others, he began toying with the idea of becoming a published author.
