When I wrote this story, I had no idea what to expect. I didn't think anybody would want to read about the crazy that is in my head. I didn't think that I could actually create something that anybody would want to look at, let alone pay for. But a best friend of mine pushed me. She said "Just write a chapter and see how it goes." So I did. I wrote one chapter, then the next, then the next and so on and so forth. I sent it to her and she sent back "holy crap, this is good, keep going." Those words gave me hope. Those words pushed me to actually give a story that is worth something. Because see when I was younger, I didn't have some big aspirations to be a writer. Nope, I wanted to be Oprah Winfrey. The big O! But, since their is already one Oprah, I couldn't become her. She seemed to always have some beautifully poetic thing to say in every situation of her show, something that would give the person a sliver of hope, grace or dignity. I wanted to be that. Hell, I still want to be that. She is also an amazing story teller, having that soothing voice that knows exactly the right parts to pause for effect. That's not me. I can barely hold a conversation without laughing. But not becoming Oprah gave me one thing. A love of reading. From her book clubs and all of that jazz, I started reading for pleasure again. This was slightly before the Twilight craze. So in all of this nonsensical rambling I just want to say thank you to Oprah.
I also want to say thank you to you, the reader. When I decided to become an author, I didn't know whether I would ever let anyone read what I wrote. Hell the last time I really sat down and wrote something was in high school. Then it was terrible stuff about biology and English. But today, look at how the tides have changed, I am writing books with sexy time. (I promise, book 2 will have more sexy time) I am writing books that will hopefully make you believe in true love, make you want to grasp onto that hope that everything can and will be alright.
I hope my words move you, good or bad. I hope that they strike such a visceral reaction out of them that you want to message me and curse me out or tell me you loved it.
So thank you, reader, for taking a chance on me. Thank you for telling me how you feel, whether it be good or bad. Thank you. Just thank you! Also, don't forget to leave a review on the books you read, it helps feed an author, and certainly can help us improve!
