Come here, I want to show you something!

Hey guys, I know that I have been pretty quiet lately. The honest truth? I had been going through some things. I won’t lie. I was drowning in a darkness that I could not claw my way out of.

It took getting so low to inspire me to create what I am about to show you. It turned out to be a mother-daughter project in the end, which makes what I am about to show you, even more special! It was creating this to hopefully help someone out there who might have or might be now, going through what I went through, to get me out of my funk!

We are going on a page by page walk through of a journal my daughter and I created. “Mood Tracker” It is a One-hundred-and-twenty one-page, mood tracking journal. Being able to recognize the specific turning points gives you leeway to stop them in their tracks, leading you more and more towards an emotionally stable state. Stop the lows more efficiently.

“Seeker. By: Kim Chance.” A book review.

I requested to read the arc on NetGalley because I couldn’t wait until September to sink my teeth into the second installment of Seeker. I will do my best not to include spoilers!

Oh. My. Goodness! I read Keeper and loved every step of the journey, so I knew that I would love Seeker. However, I wasn’t prepared for just how much I would! It sucks you into a whirlpool of emotion, and danger, love, and betrayal, at times, even breaking your heart. This sequel to Keeper is darker. While it still holds some happy moments, it grasps onto you and pulls you into delicious darkness. The descriptive writing draws you into the story. I could see, taste and feel their world! Not just their surroundings, but I could feel their feelings. There were times I had to set the book down and count to three because the lump in my own blocked the breath in my lungs as I was sent spiraling into heartbreak. My foot tapped impatiently on the floor, my eyes wide with wonder as I ate the words of the book in anticipation. I adored seeing the world through different eyes thanks to the Multi-point-of-view, the author chose to tell the story through. I loved getting to know the characters I fell in love with in Keeper, on such a deep level.

I wish it wasn’t over. I am hopeful that the ending we are left with – (while it is a perfect ending.) I feel like it could be twisted for a third installment. (Fingers crossed- and hopeful.) I loved these books so much that I am having a hard time letting go of the world that I enjoyed so much getting to be a part of. Great story! Well told. Definitely, something that deserves reading!

So, if you are a reader out there who loves Fantasy filled with Witches, Lycan’s, Shapeshifters and a world of Magic, I highly recommend Keeper, and Seeker.

Keeper is available now – Just Click Here
Seeker officially hits shelves September 10th, 2019, but is available for pre-order. If you are interested, then just – Click here

EXPULSION – Now Available On Amazon. PURCHASE HERE

Sarah couldn’t believe how irresponsible she was. She knew better than to get involved with a married man. Seven weeks pregnant and armed with the abortion pill, she was determined to make right, the wrong she had done. All hope was lost until Sarah got granted an unexpected reprieve. A brief remission brimmed to the top filled with hope and could be’s, before sending her tumbling down into a drunken depression and cascading her into a pang of guilt that she would do anything to get out.

A new law allowing late-term abortions has passed. Abortion without apology, no questions asked. With 1/3 of the abortions given today, approximately 10 to 12,000 of those babies are viable baby girls and boys with no medical risks at hand. That number will rise.

This short story is a psychological tale of one late-term abortion, the final moments of this infant’s life, told through his eyes.

Strong Trigger Warning.

New Project “Expulsion”A psychological tale. Coming This Week!

Have you ever woken up one morning, wholly inspired? I mean, inspired to the point that you cannot think of anything else? That was me.

The night before I watched #LouderwithCrowder ‘s #Changemymind – I credit this story being inspired by a mix of that, and the conversations that followed, after having watched it.

Immediately, I booted YouTube, created a playlist, and set to work. Here is a link to the playlist if you are interested.

Expulsion Playlist

While I knew what I wanted to write, I could not figure out a working title that I was happy with. That is, until, the nifty Vocabulary app that I use to boost my vocabulary gave me precisely what I needed! “The word that said it all.”

With the title figured out, I set about my way. While I knew that the controversial matter that I planned on working with was upsetting, I wasn’t quite prepared to literally break my own heart. I cried a good portion of my time writing, so much so, that I was thankful to take a break to create this cover.

I will not lie. When I gave a taste of what this book was going to subject, I was afraid of the kind of backlash I would get for it. So far, I have been met with kindness. I am genuinely thankful for that. Here is the taste from Tuesday.

I am working now on putting on the finishing touches for its upcoming release this week.

While I am well aware that this subject matter is not everyone’s cup of tea, I feel like I told the story I wanted to tell. I am really proud of this one.

The Vent – Available Today!

Checkmark Ticked!

Back when my monsters/kids were younger and being little jerks to one another, I would scare them into submission with made up monsters called ” The vent Monsters.”

I would yell out. “Knock it off you guys, or the monsters in the vents are going to eat you!” “Que in evil parent music here.” I would continue on, just to drive my point home. “They start with your feet and make their way up. They save your head for last, so they can still hear you scream.”

Not the most inventive, but it worked, “At least for a little while.”

Either way- They were being little monsters to each other once more, and I wished so badly that The Vent monster was still a useful tactic. It’s not. I said it out loud in my frustration, to which my youngest “Avery.” asked about how and where the vent monster came to be. She wondered if there was some truth behind it if I had heard it somewhere. She is eleven and still somewhat naive.

Long story short – She asked me to write her a story based on Monster who now serves as a fond memory of our past.

I wrote, she read and then approved, so we thought we would share it with anyone else out there who might have monsters of their own, who need to be careful of the vent monsters.

Little Stevie and his big brother Micheal lost their parents in an accident. Unwanted by the only family they have left; an uncle and his wife, they are sent to live in a foster home where they learn the legend of the Vent monster. It’s a creepy tale about a monster who lives beneath the floorboards, slithering throughout the rooms, vent by vent, who feeds off the forgotten children.

Laughing it off as nothing more than a scare tactic used by the other foster kids, they went about their days having no idea just how much of that story was the truth.

They soon found out.

Camp Nanowrimo 2018 Kick off.

Camp Nanowrimo is officially here. I am using this session to get ahead on my newest project “The Stepford Project.”

Today so far, I have managed to outline the six scenes I hope to write today.

My goal word count: 500 words. I am hopeful to make the full 50k this month, but I am okay with my personal goal of 35,000.

Steering clear from my typical dark-natured storytelling, I am trying something a little less dark. I am trying something upbeat, maybe even comical. Something lighthearted.

I will be stepping out of my comfort zone to try something new.

As an Author who is still trying to find my voice, it just feels like the thing to do.

Great luck to all the other Authors out there who are participating in Camp Nano.

I’m Officially On Goodreads.

I am officially on Goodreads.

It took me long enough. Four years to be exact. I remember making my profile there too. I signed up, signed in and looked around. I had no idea what I was doing, or what it was even for, so naturally, I did what most people do when they cannot figure out a new platform; I bailed.

Fast forward four years later, I find myself back on Goodreads. That is where I noticed I could take control over my Author page there, take control of which books are mine, etc. So I did!

Here I am! Four years in the making.

Four years of procrastinating on figuring it all out would be more honest.

Feel free to follow me there.

Bless me, Father is Available Today On Amazon!

I’d be lying if I told you that I was not freaking out right now, because I am no doubt about it, freaking out. I know that I have done this before, but it isn’t like riding a bike, you do forget things.

Like for instance, the fear that overthrows your emotions. Putting yourself out there to be judged, is terrifying!

I have always read, and been told by other writers “You need a thick skin for this business.” I don’t have thick skin. Not yet. It is something I am still working on. Knowing that the things I write are not everyone’s cup of tea, I am nervous about the things they will have to say. But here I am, and here it is. The short story that I have been bleeding to life. I do hope you enjoy it. If you do, please leave a review. Reviews are an Author’s lifeline. If you do not enjoy it, please let me know why. I am looking to grow as a writer.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Happy reading.

Bless me, Father LINK TO PURCHASE

A PS. – I did blunder a bit. The paperback version will be available tomorrow. I will update a link here when it is ready.

While I had the book edited, the dedication was written after. Long story short, ONE WORD, one word was all it took to stall the process. “Ten.” That was supposed to be Ted. I couldn’t bring myself to allow it to be published with a typo. “Sorry that the print version will be a little late.”
