Welcome to the page for Patricia Rose, award-winning, multi-genre author.

An Army brat until her teens, Patricia relied heavily on novels for entertainment and companionship. Every new duty station meant new schools, new teachers, and new kids. She read voraciously and began writing stories of her own from a young age, at first to continue living in the worlds of magic created by others, then to create her own. Patricia received a BA in English and taught for two years. After that, she spent the next twenty-ish years as a plaintiffs’ Social Security disability paralegal before settling down outside Louisville, Kentucky with her spice and fur-children. In recent years, she’s concentrated on self-publishing genre fiction novels and taking mult

There are so, so many wonderful worlds created by so many talented people - Tolkien, Rowling, Roddenberry, Styron ... ah, the list itself could go on for days! Right now, I think my favorite author is Gregg Hurwitz, and I'm loving his Evan Smoak Series - Orphan X, The Nowhere Man, and Hellbent (coming in January 2018). I would LOVE to be in Evan's world. As to what I would do? I would definitely have to be a flying insect of some sort, or perhaps a mouse, so I could watch, unnoticed, as the action and bullets fly! Many, many kudos to Gregg Hurwitz or creating such a compelling character, and additional kudos to Scott Brick, for bringing Evan alive. :-) It's DEFINITELY a series to check out. :)(less)

As an adult, I've had opportunities more than mysteries, so I would have to create the mystery around life experiences: college years, militant political years (almost, but not quite, the same), years of employment in multiple law firms, both huge corporate monstrosities and one-practitioner disasters, and finally, autumn years. I've been so lucky to have had a lot of wonderful experiences to draw from, thanks to my spice. Kevin works VERY hard as a postal supervisor, and he puts in a LOT of overtime, both on and off the clock. Because of his dedication to the job, when he *does* get vacation time, we are able to maximize it. We have been to Seattle, taken a cruise to Alaska, and a cruise to Turks & Caicos. With Ellen, I've been able to take a cruise to the Bahamas and swim with dolphins! Any ONE of those experiences would give me setting and plot fodder for any kind of mystery! The key, for me, in any case, isn't the mysteries that I've experienced, but the opportunities to take something real and turn it *into* a mystery!

This was a great question - thank you for asking!(less)

Meh. This one was recommended to me as a be-all cure for feelings of hopelessness and despair. It didn't live up to the hype, at least not for me. The book offered some insights into the thought processes of a neurodivergent person, but that was abou ...more

Excellent, as all in the series are. Still wanting to know what happened in Liscor and Ryoka was pedantic and annoying in her moralizing in this one. She was a strong character earlier in the series; now, she is a plot device, and that damages her cr ...more
