BIG BARRELED BABIES
When @jhwilliamsiii asked me to contribute to the WHERE THEY LIVE anthology I tried to write the most absurd reality I could muster for Paul Azaceta to draw: the gun lobby and politicians arming babies. Last night Sacha Baron Cohen proved there’s no level of crazy that isn’t prescient in the modern world.

SAN DIEGO COMIC CON SCHEDULE 2018
Ok, the title lied, I don’t actually have a San Diego schedule. I’m not doing any signings or any panels. But if one of y’all catches me sneaking around, I’ll be happy to sign the EXTREMELY RARE LIMITED EDITION VS HARDCOVER that will be on sale at Image’s booth.
I can’t get you one, but I’m happy to sign it. It looks like this:

April 2, 2018
8 days, 1 donkey, 30 camels and a New Yorker in the Middle East
Tried something new, wrote about Jordan for Medium. I might follow it up if it seems to catch interest. There’s a picture of a donkey.

My last appearance of 2017
This weekend I’ll be in Portland Oregon where the Rose City Comicon were gracious enough to invite me out. I’ve never been to the show before, but I love Portland and I’m excited to come out and meet folks.
A couple notes:
I WILL ONLY BE THERE SATURDAY AND SUNDAY!
(Sorry, work commitments)
I WILL SIGN WHATEVER YOU BRING ME*. (*Most likely, unless it’s over the top or if it’s all slabbed or something. Just ask. Don’t be sneaky with secret witnesses, that’s creepy behavior by you and the witness. )
I will have very limited stuff with me, all of the Drifter TPBs, the last of the rare Black Cloud and Drifter variants and some assorted Black Cloud singles.
I’ll also have some Black Cloud enamel pins and prints.
Come and say hi, we’ll have fun.

THE TOP 10 MOVIES OF 2016
As horrendous as this year has been, it was a pretty phenomenal year for the screen. I had a good list in the spring, and then most of that list got swapped out as the year outdid itself. This year really renewed my love for movies.
Here’s where I ended up:
1 MOONLIGHT
2 LA LA LAND
3 MANCHESTER BY THE SEA
4 GREEN ROOM
5 HELL OR HIGH WATER
6 AMERICAN HONEY
7 HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE
8 NOCTURNAL ANIMALS
9 THE WITCH
10 THE HANDMAIDEN
honorable mention to TICKLED and HAIL CAESAR and WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT and ARRIVAL

some muttering on elections
“This election sucks, it’s just choosing the lesser of 2 evils!”
Ok, first: that’s just called an election. Every election ever is just a choice between the lesser of evils, even an evil-free candidate would be chosen by being less evil than his or her opponent. But I see a lot of people choosing candidates as like some weird stand or some revenge against the planet for how the primaries shook out. And while I’ll never tell you how to vote, 1 tiny piece of unsolicited advice is that I think you have a responsibility as a US citizen to think about what the person IS as much as what they aren’t. Because at the end of the day, a term is about the President’s accomplishments. So: what do you think, good or bad, your candidate will DO? This is what matters, to me. Not lines in the sand, not sticking your thumb in the eyes of a system that pisses you off. We have a duty to try to move the country forward. Who’s got the best shot at moving it the right way?
