Leonard Cohen.

It’s been quite a few days now since the famous Leonard Cohen died, but I think I’m finally ready to talk about it.

It wasn’t so long ago when I first heard about him, maybe three or four years ago at the most, but his music had an instant impact. It’s funny when you think about a celebrity dying; you never realise it will effect you until it does…

I went to see him at the Manchester arena, although I wasn’t sure if an old man would be an interesting concert or not. Well, I was wrong. This “old man” played constantly for three and a half hours, including three encores. He just would not go home! The vibe was beautiful, amazing, and the lyrics of the songs struck me sharp. Despite the gap in age; this sharp mind just reached out to me on an emotional level.

I’ve watched many an interview on the man since then and with every one, I’ve grown to love him more and more. I think the thing that struck me most was that he’s been known to walk off-stage when he doesn’t feel “the right vibe”. And he stuck around for three hours in Manchester; again proving how wonderful the atmosphere in that place was.

He’s had a long run, and I understand that, but what pains me the most, in my honest opinion, was that his mind never gave up. I think his body maybe did before his mind. He released a new album just three months ago, which is just as beautiful as his other works.

Where-ever you are, you wonderful man… Know that your music, poems, and stories have touched multiple generations…❤

Book Two Details!

I’ve been working with the publishers for the last few days on book two and, with a little bit of luck, hope, and hard work, it might (and that’s a heavy might!) be ready before Christmas! Think of all the lovely people you can buy books for Christmas! Yay!

I’m very excited. As an extra little bonus, I’m going to be popping up a few little pages to introduce you to the characters of the books! These will be appearing over the course of the next few days/ weeks etc. Stay tuned guys!

Drinking is bad for my health.

You leave a job working with drunks and you would think that would be the be-all and end-all of the drunk business.

Today, I had one of my co-workers walk up to me and ask me to help an older woman find the alcohol aisle. Usually, while working, I have my grin/grimace face on so “Of course I would be glad to help!

DeeCon 2017 – Planning.

I have decided I’m going to host a table at Deecon 2017. Every April Dundee Art University hosts an anime convention full of dorks (like me!) and every year it’s been a great success. I’ve been to the last three and thoroughly emptied my wallet.

By hosting a table, I’m hoping that I can generate greater interest in my book and excite people with art and shiny trinkets. People love shiny things!

By that time, I’m definite that book 2; Home Front will be out and I will sell copies of both books there as well as happily signing all and any books brought to me by adoring and adorable fans.❤

I’m actually quite excited. My last table was hosted at a much smaller event and still went great. So this can only be better!  Must remember to bring my business cards this time however. #organised.

I just finished ordering some prints and some stickers. I need to finish my costume too. It will be a Draenei from World of Warcraft as, like I said, I am a complete WoW dork.

The Stunning Conclusion!

My shoe was found!

The traumatic experience that has separated the two unfortunate shoes sees that they will never be the same again. Right-y has said nothing about his take on the ordeal despite his typically loose tongue, but it’s okay. He’s been through enough, I understand.

In our work locker room there is an open slatted locker for us to put our whites in. It gets emptied every Thursday morning, and thus, when it was opened yesterday morning… out popped a rather dazed and confused shoe.

One of the managers were called about it and he was not pleased. Rightly so. Apparently the counter staff are all children, throwing shoes in lockers and sticking gloves full of water in the freezer. Etc.

Well, since I am pretty sure I told everyone about my i-shoe. (hah. pun.) The entirety of the staff were keeping an eye out for the other one. He’s currently chilling in my locker at work, waiting for me to take him home.

That’ll do, shoe. That’ll do.

Day Three.

It’s Day three and there is still no sign of my missing/pilfered shoe at work. I am beginning to wonder if it has simply run away looking for a better life. Perhaps if preferred wandering around Paris and has found a foot to take it back there and continue its walking tour of France.

Perhaps it has simply outgrown lefty and seeks to be with other runaway right shoes.

I doubt I will ever find out.

I simply hope the separation anxiety doesn’t prevent lefty from doing his job, though he’ll never work again…

That said, I’m returning to work on chapter 23 today after work. My month long binge of World of Warcraft has come to a point where I am starting to worry about myself. If I spent this much effort on chapter 23 as I have on WoW then book three would have been finished by now, so no more! That said, this only came to my attention with the giant glitch this morning that saw me have to re-install the game.

That said, I will do some dailies and then continue the adventures of Kana and the gang tonight. Promise

The Missing Shoe: Part 2

That sounds like a mystery book with an awful plot, doesn’t it?

That’s because the plot is awful, but it’s all too real.

One really must wonder what the ransom price is for a single shoe. A shoe, I might add, that came over from Paris in September when I went there.

Where are you shoe? I hope you are okay.

Where is my shoe?

It’s been some time hasn’t it! I’m not sure the last time I had a chance to sit down and properly put up some words!

Well, book one is out and available in most good book stores including Waterstones and you can find it on Amazon  HERE for UK and HERE for US.

The sequel is currently with the publishers and the release date hasn’t been set yet, but yay! Book two is called Home Front, and is the second in the series. I’ve currently on chapter 23 of book three with book four already in thought.  It’s all coming together nicely!

In other, less exciting, though oddly amusing news, at work this week, one of my shoes disappeared resulting in my socked feet wandering around in abject horror. As I work in an area with a kitchen, I need to wear safety shoes and in my absence, one went walkabout. With luck, I will find the escapee and return it safely to my feet!

In the mean time, happy writing!

Quick Update number 23423842385208

Hello, hello. It’s been a busy week this week. I just hit 1,400 followers on facebook and I’m working on twitter followers. Oh, I’m trying to provide content on twitter but I just can’t seem to work it.

Anyway! This week;  I had a stall with my books and some merchandise set up in my local college, and managed to talk my way into a radio interview. The stall went fantastic and I sold nearly all the books I brought. Handed out a butt-ton of business cards too!

All in all, things are picking up and my book is starting to sell like hot cakes. It’s really exciting! I’m working on trying to get my local waterstones to carry the book but the manager has been off on holiday, so I’m trying to work on book three while I wait for her return!

Same too, with my second book, I’m waiting on hearing back as to whether the publishers like it or not.

Tomorrow is the start of my week off, and I plan to use it to catch up on chapters, work on local publicity, and try to contact the local press! I probably should have done that sooner, but what can I say, I’ve been busy.[image error]

I must also head into town tomorrow to catch up about book information. On that note, I really aught to charge my phone!
