Bubba and Squirt's final adventure is so much fun to read! I wanted to keep reading to find out what happened! It turned out that Grandpa and their mom did not go along on the last journey, leaving the two siblings to solve the mystery on their own to save their father! Bubba and Squirt faced more monsters and had more riddles to solve to find two missing pearls. The author tied everything together perfectly in their final adventure. I was happy to see the little alux return safely to Bubba.
There are some educational tidbits at the end of the book as well as a glossary of Japanese words and pronunciations. There is also a recipe for the food that Bubba and Squirt enjoyed on their adventure.
I really enjoyed the series! I highly recommend this book and the whole series to anyone ages 8 and up who loves action, adventure, and riddles!

How to Create Puzzles for Online Therapy Sessions
I was looking for a way to create puzzles for my students for Occupational Therapy and I found an amazing website where you can create puzzles from pictures you own the copyright to. I made a YouTube video about it and created some puzzles. I did run into a few problems though that I will explain later so please keep reading!
It was easy to create the puzzles using a website called jigsawexplorer(dot)com. It is easy to copy the image address, pick the number of puzzle pieces, and then it gives a link to the puzzle. The link to the puzzle above with 6 puzzle pieces is here: Firefighter Fox book puzzle
My students loved the puzzles that I created!
A week later when I went back to create more puzzles, I noticed that the old puzzles I created no longer worked. It gave a message that the link had expired.
I noticed that the puzzle links that expired were from pictures I had posted on social media.
The links that are still working are from my own website.
Therefore, this post is actually a test to see if I can create links for these pictures in order to save these puzzles so I don't have to keep recreating puzzles for my therapy sessions.
These puzzles are great for teaching kids problem solving and letter recognition. Here is the link to Firefighter Fox's letter F puzzle

I love creating puzzles so if these work and the links stay active, then I will know that I can create even more puzzles so the links will not expire hopefully.

If the links do expire, then I guess I will have to make new puzzles each week so my students will have different puzzles instead of the same ones all the time.

"Bubba and Squirt's Shield of Athena" is an excellent book full of suspense, mystery, magic, and riddles! The book begins with the backstory from the previous books which is helpful for those who have not read the other books.
While it is better to have read the previous books, readers are caught up on what is happening in the beginning. For reference, I read the first two books but did not read the third book but I had a good idea of what was going on in this book.
Basically, two siblings travel the world because of a magic shovel that created a portal when Bubba dug a hole in his backyard. Bubba is the brother and Squirt is the older sister. They take turns narrating the story for each chapter. This makes the book pretty cool to see the point of view of each character.
The book is easy and fun to read. It kept me in suspense and I wanted to keep reading. While the siblings solved one mystery, they had to leave before finding their father who has been kidnapped. (This must have happened in the third book which I somehow missed reading.)
They finally let their mom in on what is going on. At first she doesn't want them to go back through the portal, but then she decides that next time, she is going along with their grandpa too!
I can't wait for the next book to come out! Having their mom and grandpa go along could be quite interesting!
There are interesting facts at the end of the book, a glossary of Greek words, recipes, bibliography, and maps to help readers learn more.
As I said, I read the first two books and I enjoyed those as well! I somehow missed the third book so I will have to read that one soon!

The scenes where Mesa transformed to prepare for battle were beautifully described. The book also includes illustrations that helped me envisage the characters. Even when it felt as if all hope was lost, Mesa kept fighting. I hope to read more from Janelle M. Adams because the story has many possibilities. The ending was left open, which provides the opportunity for more books in this series."
