If you follow me, you might already know this, but I have TWO new books coming in February. Both are sequels. ESCAPING ORDINARY will follow Saving Fable in my middle grade series. It continues Indira's adventures as she gets pulled into one, big video game. If you have younger readers (or if you love Pixar-styled stories) this one is a great fit.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to quickly remind you that my next young adult series-- Ashlords-- is almost here. If you're planning on snagging a copy, now's the time!

I'm so excited to introduce everyone to the world of phoenix horse racing. Once a year, the entire Empire gathers to watch the most elite riders compete. But what makes the competition so magical are the horses they ride: phoenix horses.

The breed lives for a day, riding impossible distances without getting tired, until sunrise. At sunrise they die, bursting into flames and turning into ashes. And this is the point in the race where riders need to get strategic, because different powders mixed into the ashes can summon horses with completely different skill sets-- horses that run on water, or glow in the dark, or have armored shoulders.

But good alchemy will only get you so far if you can't defend your ashes at night. Murder is outlawed, but breaking bones and poisoning an opponent's ashes? That's all very legal, even encouraged.
