Where There’s Smoke

Time for another TBR Challenge! The theme for this month is “New-To-You Author.”

Where There’s Smoke – Panopolis 1

Where There's Smoke - Cover Panopolis is a rough place to be an average Joe. I came here looking for adventure and excitement, but nobody cares about one more normal guy in a city filled with super-powered heroes. The closest I’ve come to glory is working in a bank that villains often rob.

But then I maybe accidentally-on-purpose helped a villain escape the hero who was trying to save the day. Imagine my sh...

The 13th Hex

I had a lot of fun last year, therefore here I go again – I’m taking Wendy’s TBR Challenge 2017.

January’s theme is “We Love Short Shorts!”, so I decided to finally read The 13th Hex, the intro to Jordan L. Hawk’s Hexworld series.

The 13th Hex

The 13th HexBlurb:

Romance. Magic.
Murder.

Dominic Kopecky dreamed of becoming a member of New York’s Metropolitan Witch Police—a dream dashed when he failed the test for magical aptitude. Now he spends his days drawing the hexes the MWP relies on for their investi...

Society of Gentlemen

Last month, I was going to write about A Seditious Affair for the TBR Challenge. Then shit life happened, weeks passed, and I gave up. “I’ll catch up next month,” I thought.

Yesterday I read A Gentleman’s Position—the third and last book of the Society of Gentlemen series. And I must talk about it. I must.

Warning: here there be squee, littered with adverbs and adjectives and qualifiers. I have so many feels about these books, my feels have feels. And feels don’t care about writing rules. I j...

Rough Road

Rough RoadIt’s time for February’s TBR Challenge, and the theme for this month is “Series Catch-Up” – a book from a series you are behind on. And I kind of screwed it up. Because of course.

Waiting for Clark

Waiting for ClarkI’ve been thinking about entering Wendy’s TBR challenge for some time. Lynn (my awesome critique partner) finally convinced me to give it a go this year.

The theme for this month is “We Love Short Shorts”, and my pick is a nerdy novella I read a few days ago.

Waiting for Clark

Blurb:

When Bryce Weyland agrees to go to a comic convention dressed as a superhero, the last person he expects to see is his one-time best friend (and hopeless crush), Clark Kenmore. But Clark is impossible not to noti...

Shadow and Bones is Out!

Better late than later, right? Right?!

SAB-Twitter-kiss

Anyway. Shadow and Bones is finally, finally out. After a year of work, sweat and more work, it was released on November 10.

I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty stoked. I’ve always wanted to be a writer, and to see my book out there, slowly making its way in the world…it feels great.

Right now, Shadow and Bones is only 99 cents on Amazon.

The price will go up next Monday, so grab your copy while it’s dirty cheap!

In This I Believe

This is my non-manifest, if you will.

My declaration of independence from the crap that doesn’t mean anything to me.

These are the things that guide this blog, my work and my life. My North stars.

My Creed

I believe in the soul. Of persons, blogs, things, ideas. Of everything that’s done with courage, with heart.

In writing barefoot, with eyes full of dreams.

Barefoot

I believe in vulnerability. In being honest, in recognizing the failures and trying to mend the errors. In the greatness of which hum...

Hello!

Welcome!

Come in, come in. Take a seat, have some coffee and a cookie. :)

Coffee

I love blogs. I’ve been blogging since 2006. I’ve had more blogs than I care to admit.

The blogs I had more fun writing were either personal, or the ones where I shared my journey as I learned something. In fact, my most successful blog was the one where I shared everything I learned about…blogging.

So, here’s the deal. I don’t know yet what this blog is going to be. Probably a mix of personal things, bookish things, beh...
