Welcome!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I’m in the midst of tweaking a few things on the site so don’t mind the mess. While the pages are being rebuit, let me point you to a few short cuts:

I’ll still be blogging during the renovations, so feel free to check back often to find out what I’m writing, reading, watching, and what I’m doing to survive raising too many teenagers and a two-year-old part demon/part golden retriever.

This is Cricket.

Don’t let the adorable face fool you.

Dear Reader

I’m still writing.

I know. It’s been a while since I’ve published anything. 5 Years, 3 months and 13 days to be specific. Not that I’m keeping track.

I won’t bore you with all my excuses (life, kids, work, puppy, crippling self-doubt) and just let you know I haven’t stopped writing. I’ve just struggled to actually finish a project.

But as of this posting I have 42,490 words writen on my small-town rom com, Can’t Fall in Love Without You, which I’m aiming to finish by the end of the summer. I know, I know, you’ve heard that before. To prove it, I’ll be posting the cover and putting it up for for pre-order in the next couple weeks.

Just writing that makes me want to curl up in the corner and breath into a paper bag 🙂

At this point though, it’s show up or shut up. And I’ve got too many stories to tell to give up on my writing. So stay tuned for more details!

A Little Tease or Two…

From UNBREAKABLE: Jordan tossed him a staff. “Don’t be a pussy.” The corner of her mouth kicked up as she twirled her staff in her hands. “The worst thing that can happen is I’ll have you on the ground in less than two minutes.” “No, […]

All In

Sometimes you just have to say F@#K IT. A million years ago I wrote a PNR series that for a variety of reasons, just didn’t sell well. And even though I had a blast writing those books, when my publisher closed their doors a while […]

30 Days of Blogging

With one more chemo treatment down (only 1 to go) I’ve been trying to get back in touch with all the things I used to love about writing/publishing. And blogging used to be one of them, back before I got too hung up on whether or not people were commenting/interacting enough to make it worth it the time and effort.

But the thing is, if I love blogging, if I love sharing bits and pieces from my life/writing, the time spent on it shouldn’t boil down to whether it’s worth it time-wise, it should be about whether or not I really enjoy it. And once upon a time, I loved blogging.

Maybe those days are behind me and I’m just feeling nostalgic, but maybe they’re not. So let’s put it to the test shall we? I’m going to do my best to post something every day until the end of October. Some days it might be nothing more than a funny meme, while others it might be a quick post about how I burnt something in the kitchen (again) or something crazy the Herd has done. My kids are always a wealth of entertainment (when they actually turn off Fortnight and remember the real world still exists).

Today I got a nice walk in the woods and took my camera along. I haven’t taken a lot of pics in 2019. Guess you could say I’ve had other stuff on my mind

Checking in

It’s been a little bit of a roller coaster ride since I last posted an update.

I had surgery in May and the nasty tumor was removed. Then came two weeks of waiting for all the results to come back. It’s surprisingly so much easier to deal with bad news than no news at all. No news really messes with your head.

Unfortunately, the mutinous little beast that took up residence in my body was tiny but aggressive, leaving me in the high-risk category that the cancer could come back in 5-10 years.

So…chemo.

I had my first chemotherapy treatment last week and am doing pretty good all things considered. I decided to use what little control I have over the situation and cut my hair short before it gets to the point of falling out. Some of the Herd got to cut my hair and helped me turn something stressful into something fun for all of us.

Stay tuned for the mohawk they plan to give me next week before I shave it all off

I’m still writing and plan to post a couple chapters of what I’ve been working on in my FB reader group. It’s a little different from my usual stuff, so I can’t wait to see what you guys think!
