For those true writer's block "drawing a blank for 2 days" times, I turn on the television for a PBS marathon of Nova and science documentaries, travel and BBC programming!

At some point, my notebook and pencil finds their way into my hand and, "voila'!", block broken!(less)

Oh, that's easy! It gives me an excuse for being a pain in the arse!

Seriously though - all our lives we're expected to learn & practice self-control. Even if we have discovered ways to work off the energy of anger & frustration, there is yet a residual left over. “Time is not linear - and nor is it circular. Time itself does not 'continue'.

Time. Just. Is. It flows - within, without, around...and with...itself.”
Pearl Kirkby, Folded Dreams - the Beginning

“She thought of the library, so shining white and new; the rows and rows of unread books; the bliss of unhurried sojourns there and of going out to a restaurant, alone, to eat.”
Maud Hart Lovelace, Betsy and Tacy Go Downtown

“It takes a minute to have a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone... but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.”
Kahlil Gibran

“If you don't have time to read, you don't have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.”
Stephen King

“Just roll me in fairy dust and call me a unicorn.”
Lita Burke, Ephraim's Curious Device

“We learned the seven traditional ways to make words unclear."
"Seven? That many? Which was the most effective?"
"Poor grammar skills.”
Lita Burke, Ephraim's Curious Device
